Just using this as my basis: You didn't specify where those voters came from just that you didn't want someone concerned enough to get THEMSELVES registered voting. I assumed that to mean someone who didn't go to the trouble to do it on their own without help. Maybe I read too much into that. My bad.
Question: Why not connect voter registration with Driver Licenses or ID? When you get ya license you automatically Registered? Why a whole seperate system? Seems like a waste of resources not too Rocket River
If drivers license was the only thing that allowed you to vote, people who are ineligable for a drivers license, such as the disabled, blind, etc, wouldn't be able to vote. If you want to be automatically registered when you get your license, all you have to do is check a box.
I have more of a problem with people who vote that get their info from emails that are continuously proven wrong by snopes.com.
I already said that, and apperantly, I'm supposed to be ashamed for insinuating such a thing. Of course, giddy isn't supposed to feel ashamed for insinuating that people who are registered by VRDs are uneducated plebians and that he doesn't want them to vote.
Did I say Word One about denying anyone the right to vote? To carry your Animal Farm imagery forward, "Let sleeping dogs lie..."
You are now deluged with shame. The shame is your summary judgement that those emails is where I get significant/most of/all of (You choose) my information about politics. You have concluded that because it is a convenient insult. You know nothing about the rest of my sources of information and how insignifcantly those emails stack up. That is the shame; you are now turning the shade of purple that is it's essence. I don't want anyone to vote who is ill-informed or un-educated. I think, by God, that they should not want to vote themselves for they might be doing themselves the greatest dis-service by casting their own ballot for a candidate with whom they fundamentally disagree. You do realize that that is a possibility, don't you? Again, it is just a wish. I'm not trying to deny anyone the right to vote (I love how you all have turned my argument into that issue). I am concerend about votes being "bought" by VRDs that are politically-motivated rather than civic-minded.
Actually, the national Motor Voter bill back in 1993 allowed states to do just that and you CAN do it in the state of Texas.
