Amen is a lot better than his bro. Ausar has more dog in him but Amen is more athletic and also seems to have genius bball IQ.
I said day 1 Amen had the second highest ceiling in the draft, he was the biggest boom/bust prospect IMO. Luckily the Rox won their bet on him. IMO Alpi and Amen are the futurensuperstars, Jabari is an Al Horford level all star, Tari is a Trevor Ariza/PJ Tucker elite role player and Cam's ceiling depends on whether he is gonna develop his defense and intangibles.
Amen's game awareness is improving along with his defense and rebounding. He needs to improve his handles and learn how to run the point. His lack of a jumper is the biggest liability for him. He's a hard worker though. Cam's finishing around the basket is improving despite missing so many games. Once the game slows down for him, he can become a consistent force.
If Jabari could live up to the hype on his defense oooh Lawd! We'll be #1 defense for years to come with Amen, Tari and Cam. Really need to draft a special defender this year who can hit the 3. Would love it if he was 7'. I love the youth movement and building a team that we draft, develop and keep. It would be cool if Jalen could be a part of that but he has felt like a problem since the beginning. Not focused on the game or his game and given way too much of a leash which screws the culture up.
I wouldn’t lump Cam in as a plus defender yet. Hopefully he can become one, but right now he’s pretty bad. He’s only 19 so as long as he can learn to play team defense, he has all the tools to be great.
Jabari is just inconsistent and gets overwhelmed by the moment sometimes. To be honest, it should be expected from a 20 year old. Statistically, he is already is top ten in one on one and perimeter defense. His overall defense should improve as he gains more confident and grows muscle. Amen is already our best defensive player and Tari has been great from the get go.
Amen has played about 40 games in his nba career and is already our best defender and probably our best rebounder. He is going to be a superstar. There is more doubt about Cam and he will have to greatly improve his defense and court awareness to become a star, but I keep reminding myself that he is only 19.
I went to the game last night, and if you haven’t gotten a chance to see Amen in person you should. Guy will be a superstar.
They are pretty close, but Amen just has a little bit more in him, both in playmaking ability and in athleticism--so pretty much what all the scouting reports said before the draft. I think both will be great players, but Amen has more of a chance to become a true superstar
It's rare for there to be 2 way players at the ages of Alpi and Jabari. Don't know why it's so difficult for fans to grasp that, otherwise they'd be all- stars. they have to progress with the seasons. We've seen strides already. I'm happy with the progression on defense.
It really wasn’t a bad night for Jalen, overall. It was a really good night for Ime in terms of having the right players on the floor to pull the win out. He deserves a lot of kudos there.
