It's funny about the age thing, after his rookie season, if he just put his head down and just spend the next two off-seasons improving his 3 point shot we wouldn't be having any of this conversations. Scottie Barnes can't shoot a lick out of high school or college, look at his 3 point percentage this year and look at Greens. So much for work ethics in the off season
it's not that dramatic nobody relevant heard of it for a reason he can tweet whatever he wants and folks say whatever we want too. Especially if youre a clout chaser and poser. If he apparently has been talking about for a month it would have caught wind a long time ago. It didn't and still hasn't.
I don’t think players getting in tiffs with rockets Twitter is good for anyone. Not good for the players, not good for the organization, not good for the fans. Jalen’s got to use better judgement, but until he’s off the team this little controversy is nothing to elevate.
Shout out to his team because they sold the world on LiES. They said he was 6’6 They said he had the work ethic of Kobe They said he wanted to be great. They said he was a bucket and would lead the league in scoring at some point. Props to them for getting this kid drafted #2 overall because my goodness what a flop and disappointment it’s been (as a whole).
The problem I have with the G-League for development is that the focus isn't on playing winning basketball...it's individualistic and focused on the player. Their successes aren't in wins (because nobody cares about who wins in that league) but in players drafted. If you get recruited to play at (for example) North Carolina...or Baylor....or Sam Houston State...you're going to be coached by a man and a staff whose entire careers are judged on winning. If they don't win, they get fired. So you as a player will be taught how to play in a team concept where the ultimate goal is to learn how to win together. That, to me, is a HUGE advantage for guys who go to college...even if they only go for a brief time...to play hoops, compared to G-League opportunities. Basketball isn't just meant to be played to create a stat line in a box score...it's played to win, and we judge players, ultimately on how frequently they were winners and ultimately if they were ever champions. Just my 2 cents and maybe the wrong thread for it...but it came to mind when I read your post.
Who said what? What team? He simply said he wanted to be great. Are you faulting him for this? Most players want to be great. Much of this hype is due to the media. They painted this picture and you bought it
spot on. In college you play much more meaningful games when it comes to rivalries/big games and mainstream exposure and experience electric actual crowd environments especially on the road. The right programs highlight player development and winning as you've mentioned. I've always called the G-League essentially being nothing much more than pick up games. It's an easy way out for 1 and dones. Most of the guys don't want to be there and are only there in hopes to latch onto a nba active roster and don't want to do anything else to make a little money The ncaa experience can't be duplicated and you are prepared way more coming from there. There's just no comparison. The NIL's now are also a game changer
It's ridiculous to take one crazy person who sends such messages and then say "Sengun fans are so toxic". Who even knows if that's real. The tweeter has been a Sengun hater since day one, who knows if he is making stuff up - surely these messages don't even sound like they come from a Turkish person. And when you look at the Twitter handle "lguess", there's nothing there, the account is protected.
Self-victimization always works. Now that he has successfully victimized himself, we're supposed to believe that James Piercey has always been the voice of reason (like he didn't tweet similarities between Daishen Nix and Alperen Sengun), but those damn Sengunatics are racist, unreasonable pieces of scumbags. And you are correct; there's 0% chance that the person who supposedly sent those messages to James is a native Turkish speaker. It's so obvious from the choice of words that person has used.
Why are people responding to Stephen_A? He’s a troll. He’s not posting in good faith, he’s just instigating engagement and people are falling for it.
LMAOOOOOOOOOO My guy judging from the SOFs HERE are you really going to play this game? Your guys have shown enough racism and evil hatred for me to believe all of these stories. Hilarious.
Some serious copium going around right now. Time will tell, no need for such hustle guys. No one will benefit from making others believe the other POV on this board. Get out of kindergarten for your own sakes. Time will tell. Peace.
