Yeah - well, it is about to get worse. Iraq is very near and dear to my heart - as it is where my wife is from, and historically it is very important as well. It has been nearly 20 years now since the USA invaded Iraq. The general belief in the USA and the West is that the USA went into Iraq, replaced Hussein, a million Iraqi's died - and the USA was pushed out and left. The reality is far more complicated. First, the majority of Iraqis did not and do not hate the USA, as they have complicated feelings about the USA. Also - the USA has had a profound impact on the culture in Iraq, as large parts of Iraq are very Americanized and Western in their beliefs. These beliefs were largely not shoved down the throats of Iraq, but they adopted them. So - Iraq is half Western and wants to be independent, but also has adopted a lot of the Western freedoms. The other half of Iraq is very supportive of Iran, and really does not like Trump and Biden. You will literally see huge murals in Iraq for Iranian martyrs next to very progressive shops and people. Iran has recruited some Iraqi's for Hezbollah or at allies with Hezbollah on certain interests. The USA under Biden has been killing and assassinating what it views as "Iranians" in Iraq, but they are actually Iraqi's and that has caused real issues. Right now Iraq is one of the strongest US allies in the Middle East, and the economy is starting to take off. It is imperative that the USA not let Iraq be overran by Iranian interests, but also remain close to Iraq.... or we will see a direct link for Iran to go into Israel, without a buffer and that will lead to Saudi Arabia acting as well.

Hamas is a terrorist organization and they are not as well equipped or financed and is the side being invaded. That combo almost always leads to unconventional warfare and fighting "dirty". Almost half of all weapon/money caches seized by the USA in the Falluja invasion were in Mosques - and US forces refused to enter Mosques, so they had to wait until non-hostile Iraqi forces would enter and clear the mosques.
