IF he comes back and play. His career scoring average wil become second to Chamberlain's. I dont think he and any of his fans would want that.

If I recall, when Jordan first returned with the Wiz he sacrificed scoring for D, playmaking and leadership, he did not start dominating the ball until he got frustrated with losing.

I've never been a big Jordan fan, but for a token salary to play on our team, why not. It's a fantasy anyway.

I hope he doesn't come back, but if he were to, I'd hope that he has the sense to play as a third option and not attempt to lead the team like he did with the Wiz. If he had deferred to Rip (and later to Stack) a little more, they would have been a playoff squad.

He ain't Air Jordan of old, and he didn't play at all last season...

    ... but...

    in '02 - '03 he averaged 20 ppg. That's quite competent.

Maybe he can't dominate like he used to. Maybe he's old. Maybe he's lost a step. But when he retired, he was still one of the top 25 scorers in the NBA.

    Ask yourself this question, honestly.

"Would you want him on your team?"

If the answer is yes, then what is the problem.

I would love him on the Rockets for a couple of years.

    .... AND

he played in 82 games that season, averaging 37 minutes per game. It's not like he had hot flashes for a few games and then sat the bench with injuries for the rest of the season.

In that season, Steve Francis averaged 21 ppg and 41 mpg in 81 games played. I know they play different positions in different divisions, but my point is: Jordan still has game.

Exactly. I would have no problem with him coming off the bench and adding a spark, not to mention what he would mean to the younger guys on the team.

Good lord! I hate it when the media makes up stuff like this.

Jordan is not coming back. The first couple of times he retired he did that as the best player in the league. Both times he was forced to retire by some reason. Both times he still had something left and had that drive in him. That's why he came back. It's different this time around.

Nothing prevents Jordan from playing basketball with some NBA players during the summer, but that doesn't mean that he's coming back to the league.

I have a feeling the odds are better for Space Jam 2.
