Yes. But I don't mind people having strong opinions one way or the other after it's over. Personally, I'm relieved they didn't sacrifice our future so that we MIGHT make the play-in and immediately get knocked out. I would have loved to see a quality back up big get added and I'd have also loved if they could find a shooter somewhere, but I wasn't willing to give up much. If they really turned down two seconds for Tate, I think that was a mistake. There isn't going to be much playing time for him when Eason is back.
I just get annoyed every time I see Tate check in lately. Our offense grinds to a halt and he's too small to guard the players Ime assigns him to. We should have taken whatever we could get just to get rid of him.
I remember how Morey always managed to make a trade during the deadline. And he’d make good solid moves for the most part. But, Morey never had the plethora of developing young talent this team has. He was trying to keep the team competitive while not hitting the gutter. There are 6 guys that are age 21 and younger that have all world potential, if they are able to harness all of their skills. And then there is VanVeleet, Tate, and Dillion who are solid to the core players.
With respect: explain how it isn't a team building move?? I know we need a backup C right now, and failed to get one. But having one for next year is still a team building move. We're not winning the championship this year. The play-in is the best possible hope - but even that was a long shot at the start of the year. The 2024 pick being gone is a sunk-cost.
I like Spencer Dinwiddie and Robin Lopez. I also think it might be worth taking a look at Killian Hayes. My buddy in Detroit says he's a solid defender with great court vision, just a terrible shooter. The shooting is certainly a concern, but I wonder if he could do better in our defensive minded scheme being able to pass to guys like Cam and Amen. I think my preference is that they go with the vets though.
I'm ok with Spencer and Robin. Spencer... there was a tweet about Lakers wanting him. Killian...eh... have to pass on that one.
I am not ready for the Dodgers slobber fest, the dumb Rangers, not to mention I hate the new playoff system
People actually think a 5 win road team is an option for players on the buy out market who won't even be in the playoffs? Stop it The only person worth a look is Dinwiddie and he isn't even glancing here. "Coveted by several playoffs teams" Let that sink in with logic Brook Lopez was the only reason his bro's nba career is still hanging on. Just like sorry ass Thanasis has Giannis to thank for. Both are certified scrubs. Robin isn't even better than Landale
He's hanging his hat (career?) on "Internal Growth" which he has mentioned multiple times. The entire make the playoffs in Phase 2 was dependent on this internal growth and as we've seen through 60% of the season that this internal growth has not been enough and probably won't be at least this season. So I guess that means is Phase 2 starts again next year instead of Phase 3 which one would have hoped would be a potentially deeper playoff run. Long story short, Phase 1 was a 3+ year process. Phase 2 is at minimum now a two year process. Phase 3 who knows. Phase 4, reaching contender status, probably some CF.net members won't be alive any more. Stone is an I.D.I.O.T
I didn't see any of the trades that the Rockets would have been able to obtain not using FRP. Tate, Landale and 2nd round picks was worse than anything the other teams paid. All the hand wringing is ridiculous with the up-hill battle we would have to make the play-in. Adding a backup center this year would have done very little to up those odds. Making no moves is better than making stupid moves. Once Bridges was off the table and Caruso or Brogdon was going to cost FRP's we were screwed. None of the FRP's we have to offer are sh*t like the other FRP's that were included in trades. Maybe we can get someone in the buyout market, but I doubt it will make a difference. Once Brooks, Jabari, and Tari went down (and now FVV) our odds went to near zero for the play-in. Stone did the right thing.
All valid, but the Astros should be top contenders so there's a point to paying attention to the season
Who has stated the clear plan? How do we know there is a phase 4? What if Phase 3 is contender status? Would 5 years be unacceptable to you? Because that seems really impressive to me.
