That’s literally why the Rockets hired him. this was supposed to be LiFToFF. They spent $70 million this offseason to MAKE the playin
We need a Center if we want to go to the playoffs….we are too small. We need a outside shooter in big games. We need a backup shooting guard….Cam backup Dillion, Tari backup Jabari but we do not have a backup center or a shooter of the bench Bench: Amen, Cam, Tari…..that’s it. We cannot count on Holiday, Tate or Uncle Jeff Stone needs a TRADE for our bench…we cannot shoot and we are too small for the playoffs
because vets that are bought out traditionally join 11 seed teams. I completely forgot about that new trend
I'm ready for the Cody Zeller / Gorgui Dieng / Alex Len blockbuster. Or bring back a fan favorite..the Bruno Fernando comeback.
they're not making the playoffs. a 5 win road team is not making it. those 2 things aren't going to magically fix that with 30 games left
We could probably work out a way to join that deal if we want Holmes. The Wizards aren't trying to compete at all. So if they don't, it's because the Rockets don't want him.
Gafford didn't make sense after we acquired Adams. Would be far too much total draft capital to spend on a couple of backup centers. Drummond is still available and could make sense if the price really is a couple second rounders. Might need to find somebody who will give us a similar return for Tate first.
I'd also suggest that I ALWAYS want my coaching wanting to win. It should burn him up every game he coaches where his team loses. If you're not wired like that for that position, I'd prefer you coach somewhere else. Obviously FO staff needs to take a different approach. But you should never hire or retain a coach that is content with losing.
No they didn't. Nobody and I mean NOBODY in the world outside of Houston thought this team would make the play in. I was hoping for a 32 win season, because that would be dramatic improvement. I'm sure everybody would have loved to do that, but I don't think too many people considered that realistic.
that pick is currently #28, which to some GM is less valued than a high SRP, and they also got 2022 #14pk Ochai Agbaji in the deal. if the Rockets has a #28 draft pick to use i'd like them to trade for Olynyk+Agbaji; rather than Stone wasting another 3-4 SRPs down the road to get rid of likes of TyTy/Garuba ...
