No one is doing anything this deadline. Trade deadline moves largely reek of desperation and especially now with the play-in/supermax deals there's much less incentive to deal. Back in the day when you were afraid of your superstar bouncing to Miami or LA I could see it happening. But nowadays no one leaves and no one cares.
The Rockets as a team are full of young talent, draft picks & cap flexibility in year 3. Stone's awake, are you?
Bulls with no plan have a better record then Rox do and Rox have been planning for 3 plus years. That doesn't include Jazz, Magic, Pacers, a few others who are significantly better and better positioned in much less time. Hope I'm wrong but i feel this methodical multi phase approach is gonna blow up in stones face.
It's a long way from correct. For starters: we received Dillon Brooks via trade since the 2023 draft. Even if nothing else, we received Brooks and Adams for KJ Martin and second round picks (none of the other players traded are on NBA contracts) I'm not a Stone-fan, but that's a pretty sweet deal. Trading a bunch of scrubs (and 2nd round picks acquired in various other deals) for legitimate, proven, starter quality NBA veterans.
And everyone knows it is both physically and mentally impossible for a lawyer to love basketball. They are automatons with no capability for emotion. Amiright, @SamFisher?
I would not call it a legitimate trade when they have seriously negotiated with Brooks beforehand and just ironed out the details.... It is more like a Free Agent deal with transactions to make it work. Most of those trades by the teams came about during last week or in a few days.
That is such a simplified view of things it's pathetic that any knowledgable basketball fan takes it seriously. Adams was a very good trade for next year. All the other moves were to free up roster spots and provide flexibility. KJM sucked and his usage since leaving the Rockets proved it. Same with the other slugs we moved. Second round picks are virtually nothing and we still have plenty of them.
Having a bad GM at the helm of your rebuild just tells me this franchise is headed for mediocrity this decade.
Both his jobs are bringing him lucrative money.....all that counts and happy wife happy kids, and a friend like KPJ.
