To those who have it, are you happy with the investment, and how exactly does it work? It says that you get up to 40 games a week - how does this work, do you choose what team's games you want to receive or what? What is the programming during the day hours? Does coverage begin during the preseason? I mainly just want to know if I would be able to receive EVERY Rockets game. Thanks in advance.
I had League Pass 2 years ago (Manhattan). They start with the regular season and show all games that are not being played on other stations in your local area (i.e., YES network carries Nets game, so no Nets games will be shown etc). This is all stations including NBA TV, so if you happen to not get NBA TV from your cable company, you will not see the NBA TV nationally televised games on League Pass. You don't have to pick and choose games. It worked out great for me as I got to see all the Houston games I would have missed. The only downside is that you often get away broadcasters for Houston game (not sure if this is still true). During non-game time, they will show either a stupid preview clip or schedule for that day (letting you know which channel will have which games for that day). If you have the money, I would highly recommend it if you want to catch all the non-nationally televised games. Hope that helps.
I love it. Especially living in Mavericks town. One-time payment of 200 + tax and you get to watch any game in the regular season. You get to keep NBATV as long as you renew the League Pass.
I've had League Pass for 3 years (or is it 4?) and the only Rockets games I don't get are when the play the Sixers (blackout here in Pa.) Well worth it if you are an out of state Rockets fan.
it's awesome. as has been mentioned, you only miss national tv games, games that are shown in your area by other channels (in austin i don't get spurs games b/c they're on FSW, what a crusher) or those on nba tv if you don't get nba tv. i got nba tv for $2/mo extra as part of some sports package where i got a few other Fox Sports channels, so it was no big deal. outside of that, you get every game in the league and obviously all the others are on tnt/tbs/espn/abc so you get them. it's worth it to me just for the rockets games, the other games are just a nice bonus.
How many Rockets fans are in Dallas? I'm new to Dallas, trying to find a place to watch Rockets game if I decide not to get league pass, 200 bucks is alot for a student after all. Any suggestions?
LegendZ3, Try out these threads. Some people have moved back or moved elsewhere, but it can give you an insight on who's here in Dallas. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47020 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51339 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52167 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40645 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16143
The real question isn't if you will love actual NBA LP...as you will. The question is whether or not your cable company gets NBA TV. Last season, I switched from digital cable to the Dish because my local cable provider didn't have NBA TV. When games are on NBATV...like the Rocket/Laker game in November, you'll be wishing you had it.
