trying to prolong the weekend, engaging in philosophical discussions in chat rooms with raven and nomar. listening to rap. getting sleepy.
I just finished watching the movie "Irma La Douce". I rented "The Apartment" from netflix, and I liked it so much, I bought it later. Since "Irma La Douce" has the same actors in it, I figured I'd enjoy it as well. Not really. I hate to say it, but that's probably one of the most unfulfilling movies I've ever seen . . . total waste of 2 1/2 hours . . .

Just got back from the old Club...had to do my usual for my sunday night parties....no big name celebrities this week. Had Stacey Mack come by which he is a regular all the time. Great Guy by the way. Asked him if he is getting signed anytime soon. Said he doesn't know but he is sure enjoying himself. Think i am going to stay up and play some madden and get deeper in my franchise then hit the sack.....
I was sleeping, which I think I'll go back to. I can sleep indefinitely (with short breaks), especially on long weekends when it doesn't really matter. And when I've been planning to get all this work done, though the weekend will evaporate before I know it. Anyway, off to see if I can come up with any interesting dreams.
The Apartment is one of my favorite movies of all time. And you're right about Irma. Wilder is sometimes pretty hit and miss (although his hits are pretty awesome). I wouldn't say it was a total waste, but it definitely wasn't anything special. If you haven't already seen it, give "Some like it hot" a try. It's another comic Wilder/Lemon collaboration, with Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe as the two leads. Personally I think it's a bit overrated because I don't think it's the funniest movie ever made (I probably wouldn't even stick it in my top 5), but it's still an excellent film.
Last night I went to Hooters at around 9 with about 20 other guys (and girls) for a friend's birthday. Well, I came back with nothing to do, so a friend and I decided to stay up until 5 (it was already 3 by this time) to wake up this other guy who said he was going to surf this morning since the swells were supposed to be so great. He decided it would be too dangerous and too early since he practically barged in there knocking loudly. Well, we should've gone to bed, but decided we should pull an all-nighter so we can have an early breakfast for the first time ever ...at Denny's of all places. As we do that, we run into two hot females who are going out for food as well so we all eat together. Well, it was about 8 AM now and we decided to take the Miami-Dade MetroRail all the way from one end to the other. That was fun. $1.25 for the entire route. We eventually got back to campus by 10:30 and did we go to bed? No; we decide to go to rudely awake a girl whose birthday is today. [Side Story: the b**** RA walked out of her room and was like 'Don't be so loud next time!'. So I yell 'What the ****?!?! It's 10:30 on ****ing Labor Day'. As we leave the floor and the elevator doors close, I wished her a 'Happy ****ing Labor Day' rather loudly. Yeah, I like being an *******. ] We get back to our rooms and crash by 11:30 and I just woke up at 4. (All times Eastern)
IROC it, I have noticed that you post a lot around 2 to 3 in the morning central time. Do you work 2nd shift?
it is now 5.55 AM. and i'm up, i have been in Kyrgyz republoic the last 4 weeks, and my body is still used to the time therre wich is 4 hours earlier, so now it is there 9.55AM. so i'm up. And i'm just listening to music and playing some games
Real exciting Labor Day for me . I spent it... doing labor. Like this: van der Waals Equation of State • Unlike the virial equation of state, accounts for condensation into liquids – Not quite as accurate as the virial eqn. • Takes repulsive forces into account – Molecules have a volume of their own and also a “volume they exclude” – Change V to V-nb ; b is a proportionality constant. (multiply by n for # of molecules) – At low pressure, V >> nb and the nb term can be ignored. • Attractive forces reduce pressure. – Attraction is proportional to concentration, n/V – Attractions slow the molecules down – Change in pressure = a•(n/V)2 (a is another proportionality constant) – Pressure term goes to p + (an2)/(V2) • We now have van der Waals parameters a and b. They can be looked up in tables for specific gases. Looks better with the right format, but you get the idea. Making notes for all the happy p-chem students.
"Some Like it Hot" is one of the upcoming films on my netflix list A day later, I seem to have a better enjoyment thinking about that movie than I did actually watching it. I think what bothered me the most is that I think it could've ended so much better. Jack Lemmon's character should have told Irma that HE was "Lord X", IMO. Had that happened, it would've made the movie much more enjoyable, IMO. But the charachter "Moustache" is the bomb! "The Apartment" is one of my favorites as well. It's such a fantastic story, and the acting is top-notch. I'm so glad Netflix recommended it to me . . .
