I don't think he fit in our system now. I sure don't want to see us max extended his contract and then end up trading him and picks to get rid of his contract.
Jalen seems like a very easy player to scout for, teams know what to look for with him, he is not finishing and getting the ball stripped or blocked in the paint at an unusual rate. Even if he figures it out, I can only imagine how he would just wither away in big moments or playoff games.
He’s just not very good. Let’s please stop second guessing all that we’ve seen up to this point. He’s just not who we drafted him to be.
It's his 3PT shooting that's so bad. He's never been good, and wasn't good the last two months, but he's only shooting 24.7% from behind the arc the past 10 games. He chunks way too many bricks for my liking. I want a starting SG who can hit the 3's better than Jalen.
That's just silly. If somebody here says they don't think Jalen Green is very good, it's not because they don't even want him to be good. Every single Rockets fan would LOVE for him to be good.
It's not even about Sengun--it's more about Ime Udoka. I don't think he will ever want to run a fast-paced D'Antoni-style offense, and that is what Jalen is built for. It's clear that Ime wants to play a slow, defensive, halfcourt game. I've seen people saying "Jalen fits well with Sengun, he just doesn't fit well with Fred", and maybe that's true to some degree. Sengun can play the transition game (but I think he plays better defense when he doesn't have to). Fred can't, or doesn't like to very much. But why did we sign Fred? Because Ime Udoka wanted him. He knows what kind of team he wants, and it's not a track meet team that pours on the offense to outscore opponents, it's a slow, grinding team that breaks opponents physically on defense and breaks them down via good halfcourt sets, ball movement, cutting and repositioning on offense. The question is, will Jalen ever be able to adapt to that kind of offense, or does he need a change of scenery--both because it's better for the Rockets and because it's better for him. I'm more and more leaning toward the latter.
Good god Jalen...enunciate your words man... That's from before he went to the G League. You can actually understand him and he says words rather than mumbling. Has any reporter ever told him they can't understand what he is saying?
If you want to define bust as not a star then sure. If your definition is that he isn’t an NBA level player than that’s just untrue no matter how you cut it.
Having pace is fine but only when your decision making, handle isn't ****. Him and Cam sucked gorilla ass tonight.
