It's like I look forward to our home games because there's more excitement knowing we may win. When we are on the road, it's the opposite. 5-16 in this point on the season is not going to get us into the play-in. I'm thinking the lights are too bright outside of Toyota Center for us. Thoughts?

    One word: Youth

They weren't supposed to be an accomplished road team this year. Any road wins are gravy.

Why did Ryan Anderson shoot better on the road?

Lack of confidence facing the opposition and their crowd hurts them. The refs usually favor the home team, especially a contender.

There are hardly any Rockets outside of NASA.

I was going to say no home fan advantage... but there never is at Toyota Centre anyway. So it definitely can't be that.

Traveling takes a lot out of you. The young guys aren't accustomed to the grind yet, don't have years of experience to develop a routine and learn how to get in the zone when dealing with the discomfort and exhaustion. Even just sleeping in a new place isn't as restful, but it gets easier when you've stayed at the same hotels dozens of times over the years.

They probably don't even realize it's affecting them during the game due to the adrenaline, but of course it still does.

Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Fairly small sample size.

Sure, but I expected better than bottom 5 in the league.

I would argue that the fault lies more with your expectations than with the team itself. We took the same team as last year, replaced some young guys with even younger ones, and added a handful of vets who apart from FVV weren't exactly the most coveted FAs. Even with the coaching changes, we're not good enough to win more than about 1 of 4 on the road. That'll come with time.

This is a very great assessment.

They cannot hold practices on the road, not extensive ones at least......

Most shooters other than Ryno Anderson shoot worse on the road.

Rockets aren’t built for the road. They’re built for the stars and the galaxy beyond.

(as everyone already said, we’re young and growing and that probably comes with road woes and inconsistent shooting).

Why can’t the Rockets win on the road?
Why can’t the Astros win at home (in the postseason)?

    23-24: 5-17
    22-23: 8-33
    21-22: 9-32
    20-21: 8-28

To be honest with you they have not been that good at home either...inconsistent in the last few weeks.

The honey moon ime phase is officially over.

Let's win 35+ games and be done with it.
