He's been rumored to be going to the bull for weeks now. Not much of a surpise that he didn't land here. After using up most of our MLE on Sura and Ward all chances of bringing this guy in vanished.
Bulls sign Andres Nocioni? The man the rockets have been known to persue. Could this be a coincedence or could the bulls want a sign and trade deal with the rockets. We know the bulls have a lot of players already and the rockets are interested so why not. I know its a hunch but it could happen. I would like to see him on our team. I think the bulls, even with the number of players they signed, still care about their cap room and want to add Nocioni to clear the little cap that he adds. its impossible to trade anyone along with deke until oct 4, but he can be traded alone so thats what happened
Where did you hear that the Rockets were pursuing Nocioni? The Bulls signed him before the Olympics. He was their major FA target this summer. Stop speculating.
The Rockets were after Nocioni (or at least had expressed interest) about a year or two ago. The problem then was that Nocioni had some huge money-based buyout clause from his international team that nobody wanted to touch.
Watching Nocioni play in the Olympics, he seems like kind of a poor man's Artest, maybe a better version of Harpring...certainly a very physical player and good defender.
What does signing this guy have to do with getting Mutombo? If the Rockets wanted this guy they could have easily have gotten Mutombo AND this guy.
Was he the dude that dunked over TD and KG from the baseline in the summer games a few years ago? If not, who was it? I remember seeing a write-up in SLAM that showed this white dude over Duncan's and under KG's outstretched arms. helluva dunk.
Nocioni was the Bulls big aquisition this summer. They were able to get Gordon/Deng in the draft, but was really pursuing Nocioni all summer long. No way Bulls give him up.
thank god we didnt get him, otherwise some fool would have created a thread saying, "we got Nocioni, is Ginobili on the horizon?"
