Last year: 39.5% FG, 32.1% 3pt (8.7 attempts per game - seriously?), 67.3% FT Career: 41.3%, 32.8%, 64.9% Those numbers are a little sad. He should never be called a good shooter in any category.
link Statement Regarding Baron Davis NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 3 -- The following is a general statement from the Hornets organization regarding the recent comments by Baron Davis and his agent: The New Orleans Hornets have no intentions of trading Baron Davis. He is our franchise player and we look forward to having him on the court as we begin a new season with a top-notch coaching staff and an improved and exciting roster. Davis had been very positive toward the Hornets organization and the changes they had made throughout the summer. As a result, the recent comments of his agent caught Owner George Shinn and General Manager Allan Bristow by surprise. Shinn and Bristow plan to meet with Davis as soon as possible in order to make sure that they honor their commitment to doing everything possible to put the best team on the floor to start the 2004-05 season.
Davis is not better than Francis. Davis handles the ball more, takes worse shots and can't shoot. I don't want him on this team as it would disrupt the chemistry.
Aren't Davis & Francis buddies? If Davis requested a trade, I'd think his 1st option would be Orlando.
The grass is always greener on the other side, isn't it? B Diddy puts up better numbers in the east but has worse %s from the arc and from the FT line (seriously, wtf is a 65% shooting PG doing?!) If it came down to it, I'd personally go with Francis over Davis (I've heard him called Fat Francis, Pudgy Francis, Francis-lite, etc), but it'd be close. Still, did we NOT just trade Francis because he didn't fit the system? Just because Baron had a career year doesn't mean that he'll fit into the system.
Why do Rox fans persist in dreaming about adding another superstar to the roster? If an all star player comes to the club in a deal that the Rox can't refuse then that's great. Why should the Rox give up valuable role players and draft picks for a player that'll stop the ball from going where it should be going (ie in to Yao in the middle and then out to T-Mac on the perimeter)?
Anyone that was frustrated with Steve's inability to run the team would hate life if we were to bring in Davis. Same style of play, same need to dominate the ball, far more injury prone. Evan
i love it when people wanna talk about a player, and never seen them play. baron davis could be a francis clone, except his shot selection isn't as good. and you want that on our team? sheeeeiiit, i would rather have the original.
Not enough basketball to go around with Davis on the team, along side Yao & TMac. Haven't we learn anything from this year's NBA final & US basketball Olympics experience? Basketball is a team sports. Five good players not necessarisly form a good team.
