We should still give him the opportunity to come off the bench before trading him. His trade value is gonna be super low right now. I think he's just not a good enough all around basketball player right now. Let's give him the opportunity to play in more of a one sided scorer role off the bench where he doesn't have to worry as much about letting the other players on the floor get into offensive rhythm.
He is not truly playing hard against the best teams.....or he is giving efforts facilitating when people need him to flat out make 3s.... Seems to be slow yes slow in the processing department.
Took him long enough but I think trades should be priority. He was the stand in guy the last month, a lot of us knew and accepted that Whitmore has to grow first.
Bro really compared Green to Tmac and Bron lmao. Even when Mac wasnt offensive leader he was the best defender on the team and one of better passers. Thats the thing EG talked about… they had to learn to fit in the league as a role player first before given keys to the team. Same happened with Sengun and now is happening with Cam
they had practices with JG4 at point, Cam at the 2 and 3-4 were Bari and DB?? and it came handy tonight??
All i gotta say if you're truly looking at all that objectively it's just flat out disappointing and merits a ton of validity. The eye test supports all of it. This actually is worthy of its own thread but I'll just leave it here for now If you're just a homer and a JGOF, then you'll just gloss over it and chalk it up as nothing.
Thus is why I say that if the metrics are THIS different from the eye test of some, it just means their eye test is trash. There are people who up until this season kept trying to pretend he was a legitimately good player.
Jalen is athletic, he is very gifted in certain physical aspects. He has some decent offensive moves, not the richest arsenal but enough to get by. Defensively he is at best average I guess. My problem with him is that he is playing street basketball. He is having a very hard time adjusting to organized team basketball. I have no idea how much time he needs; it could be 1 year, or 5 years. Unless you are 1 in a million talent, you cannot be useful to the team with that kind of play. For those reasons I am out...
^On top of all that, I hate his new thing of taking these midrange shots off the dribble where he's floating backwards. It's not really a fadeaway, but he's jumping slightly backwards. It's such an insanely low percentage shot, but once every 15 games (like last game) he'll hit 4/8 on those and I guess that's what encourages him to shoot more of them. It's a good way to get separation, sure, but if you're only making it 10% of the time, then the defense is happy to let you get all that separation.
