a common theme for him lately is taking down reality tv and general insanity of fame hungry culture. This looks less funny and more social commentary but I really have no idea what the point will be.
I don't know about that movie, but may give it a shot. I started watching his work maybe 6 years ago and found some of it to be the most hilarious stuff out there at the time. At times though, it's like he's just taking advantage of dumb people and making them say stupid things. I know that's not new, given that Borat/Ali G did things like that, and others before. Fielder's setups are more mean spirited at times.
Watched the first 3 episodes and all I can say is this is weird, I cant tell if its good or just very, very weird. I came to it because well....Emma Stone of course. I am going to give it one more show to see if I stick with it
this show is a not-so-subtle satire of AWFLs and their cucked husbands I'm surprised it got made, almost as if Fielder tricked Showtime into making it not realizing what it was.
Fielder is brilliant at being totally awkward and cringeworthy. This show is great, Nathan For You was similar. I can handle him in small doses.
I loved Nathan for you and the rehearsal. This show has a different vibe. It's closer to uncut gems, which the other creator is tied to.
They're in on it. He's was a big part of Sacha Baron Cohen's "This is America" and you can see his influence on many of their skits.
