Honestly think Udoka's rotations this game were embarrassing.

What did Holiday do to earn being there down the stretch exactly?

What did Amen do to earn such little minutes?

 

They are just not doing what they are suppose to....

Just bc he doesn’t self deprecate during post gamers doesn’t mean he considers himself guilt free as you say. Any good coach will self evaluate & identify opportunities for improvement.

• I’m positive he is doing this.
• He has a young team and is holding them accountable.

I for one do NOT want to hear my coach tearing himself down in post game pressers in some kind of fake, virtue signaling, self loathing rant:

“I didn’t put us in the right position to get a win. I had two undersized players on the court to finish regulation. I mean that was just plain stupid. We couldn’t guard the 3 ball and that’s on me. I didn’t take timeouts in the right moments and my lineups were atrocious. I thoroughly got out coached and I deserve to get fired on the spot.

If this was a road game it would be fair for Fertitta (aka Ferntits as some say on clutchfans) to keep me off the team jet & to put my sorry azzz on a greyhound. I will take a hard look at this game tomorrow and if I’m allowed to continue as the coach I will be better next game. If I am fired I will hit up Silas for a gig in Detroit.”

I would welcome a coach who would do that and there's definitely something in between tearing yourself down and just put it all on the group. So when asked about OT he could've said something like "we should not have been there in the first place and it's up to me to come up with the right group of players and strategy when all they need is a 3."

 

How they finished the 2nd quarter wasn't great either. Gave the blazers momentum.

Despite that still had a chance to win. Putting the ball in FVV hands in that situation aint it. FVV dominating touches aint it. That last play in 4th FVV should have shot it in the paint. But he isn’t a great paint scorer shouldn’t be in his hands that critical moment.

He also needs to hold FVV accountable. Chunking up 10 threes when you are ice cold is inexcusable. FVV has seriously regressed. Amen got the Silas Sengun treatment last night . You got three fouls so you have to sit the rest of the night so you don’t foul out. Our third quarter defense would have been much better if he let Amen get in the mix against Simons.

 

If Amen was a threat from outside like Holiday he'd easily be playing over Holiday as he's just better at everything else than Holiday. But you have to space the floor.

 

This is a Jalen, Sengun and Jabari evaluation year. Once you realize that is what this year is all about and all it was ever about the picture becomes more clear. Wins and losses aren't the most important thing for them yet. Hopefully next season once they cut the dead weight winning games will take precedent again.
