It irks me that Hunter can defy a congressional subpoena and get away with it. Apparently he can and he doesn't need my advice. Or maybe this is advice for James Comer instead. A possible middle ground between the public and private testimony is that Hunter could agree to a private hearing with a full written transcript to be made public after, possibly with redactions if necessary.
Yes and this would be such a big deal in the past, even if he could get away with it - the political backlash for his father years ago would have sunk his father politically, so he would have not defied the subpoena years ago to save his father. However we now live in a clown show ..... from a Presidential administration LYING to the world on WMD so that they can start a war. To multiple impeachments against President's.... to a President just shutting down an investigation (F&F) because it looks bad for his AG.... to having a sexual predator as President that committed fraud claiming to be a charity for helping vets and now has nearly $100,000,000 in judgments against him. So - comparatively speaking, having the crooked POS son of the President blow off a subpoena is par for the course and not really even news.
The problem with that is that comer and the maga republicans would never agree to that. They really don't him to testify unless they can control what they can publicly release via fox new and other supporting outlets. They have already been exposed to releasing incomplete, disproven, and outright false excerpts of testimony. come knows a complete story works against them... so they prefer to the status quo so they can complain about hunter and threaten subpoenas, criminal charges, etc. And hunter can counter that he agrees to a public hearing.
