    • Seamless fit
    • Would start right now over Jalen Green
    • Legit 6'5 (almost 6'6)
    • Hard nosed defender
    • Silky smooth shot
    • Non Diva
    • PERFECT fit for Ime's style and system. This is essentially Ime's Marcus Smart (in boston)
    • Good enough to get recruited by Kansas, transferred to Houston under Sampson, and took the team to the final four.
This is an absolute no brainer, if Stone screws this up, I don't know what else to say. Send them the Brooklyn Pick, Tate, second rounders, whatever. Heck I'll throw you know who in there, I'm not sold he's every come around to be who folks thought he was being drafted so high... (Thibs also wants a scoring punch)

I haven't watched him play in the NBA, so assuming everything you've noted is true:

Why in the world would the Knicks trade him for Jalen Green?

I like that he can at least hit three pointers, but he's been even worse at finishing around the rim than Jalen this season. Only 52% from 0-3 feet... godawful. He's almost FVV-level bad at making layups. Grimes also has effectively no midrange game. Mostly a "stand around at the three point line" guy.

I think I would prefer to go for Ayo Dosunmu from Chicago if we are looking for a tough defensive guy. He's much better around the basket and does have a little bit of a midrange game.

I'm totally down with bringing Q home. Besides being a Coog, I see him as the best combination of D and shooting available at a low price. Agree with almost everything you said.

    Two things -

That DOES NOT include giving up anything close to the same stratosphere as the BKN pick.

Don't see him being Marcus Smart...Grimes is a much better shooter, not a ball handler/ creator...

    I'll say this, also....

If we get Grimes, I want Mitchell Robinson in that deal.

Rockets already have plenty of 3 and D guys. They need shot creators who can actually shoot.

I really like Quentin Grimes. He's young on on his rookie deal, so we'll be able to retain him. Plays solid D and get hit a 3. I could see him starting next to Amen at the 2, next to Amen at the 1, or being the main backup guard going forward. So long as the deal is not for Tari or our RFP this season, it works for me.

Who aside from Smith? Brooks is pretty good at creating his own shot. FVV, too. Tari is more of just a defensive guy since he only takes a couple 3s a game.

Grimes could be a good shooting role player for us, but I’m not sure I can take all of the Coug homerism that comes with him.

Nah, he's a 3&D SG, those are a dime a dozen even though he's a good/young one. Don't need to give up anything but MLE/partial for those.

I'd rather start Cam at SG and move Jalen to 6th man scorer role.

If you think Jalen’s confidence is at an all time low now, try moving him to the sixth man for an 19 year old to take his spot and see what that gets you.

His confidence was shot when Ime Udoka would not even give the 19 year old his minutes.......way before Whitmore proved himself.

Jalen Green has a higher ceiling than Quentin Grimes - we need to hold on to Jalen to improve his trade value
