Sengun is 21 and his season this year is pretty much on par with the best single Lavine season. I still think it's unlikely he becomes a franchise player but he will be way better then Lavine, come on

Read before trying to build an argument..
BTW, Both deserved all-star and Okur became an all-star. As I said before, we don't support someone if he/she doesn't deserve it. Turkish people are selective. This is what it is.

The fact that you just brought up his scoring proves my point.

They were not anywhere near allstar level? Mehmet Okur is an all-star buddy, and Hedo was the point forward of the Magic team that played NBA Finals.

Cam, Amen, Jabari and Sengun none of them have bad chemistry with one another. They are willing to share the ball with each other, they recognize mismatches, none of them are black holes on offense. When Cam gets the ball and sees Sengun wants the ball he gives him the ball, when Sengun gets doubled, trippled he kicks it out to Cam. Sengun passes the ball to Amen Amen passes it to Sengun. Sengun finds Jabari, sets him up in the high/low post. Jabari does the same for Sengun. Amen knows that he can't shoot so he's willing to distribute. I don't know if we ever gonna be serious contenders like Celtics, Wolves but we will have a very unselfish, competitive team.

But Emery doing great at Aston Villa. Arsenal and Villa both have 43 points after 21 games. I guess he is the favourite for COTY award.

For sure, breh, he did after a rough start in the Premier league.

He is not bad but his English is surely not good, looks like a hobgoblin.

We've now seen two flashy passes from Alpi in back to back games.

Amen moving off the ball the way KMJ did.

    Beautiful.

Glad he composed himself tonight, he had a really bad start to the game with those turnovers.

That pass to Holiday on the perimeter... you have to make them when Sengun gets you the ball like that with two weeks worth of daylight to shoot it.

This is a legitimate question. I agree with you that there are players who produce "empty stats" on losing teams, which do not translate into winning.

Michael Jordan was the best player on a losing team for his first three seasons.

MJ at age 21 (same age as Alpi now) with the Chicago Bulls: 38-44
MJ at age 22 with the Bulls: 30-52 (he missed a lot of games that season)
MJ at age 23 with the Bulls: 40-42

I believe that some people were questioning whether MJ was an "empty stats" guy in his first few seasons. We all know how that turned out.

Alpi wasn't featured as "the guy" in his first two seasons with the Rockets, instead we played KPJ/Jalen iso ball under Silas.

Now that we have an actual NBA head coach who knows how to properly evaluate talent and now that we have added two good veterans, we are starting to use Sengun's talent more properly, and the team's record is improving.

Now, let's compare Sengun at 21 to the guy you brought up, Lavine, at age 28 (arguably in his prime). I would encourage you to pay special attention to the advanced statistics.

You can see that Sengun's WS, BPM (including defensive BPM), VORP are in a different stratosphere from Lavine.

I would argue that this indicates that Sengun does not produce empty stats, and that he indeed contributes to winning basketball.

I have to admit I don't know who Alvan Adams is, but Alpi should try and surpass him before he turns 22!
