He mentioned the last defensive play of regulation where we threw a different look at the PnR with Sengun switching onto Sexton, hitting him with a double late, and great rotation behind. Big play! Look for us to mix it up with Brown and Tatum today, too. Last game we trapped them as well our normal pnr defense going over.
Look for Ime to mix in a "didn't like our energy, back to backs are part of the job description" in his post game comments today
Last play of regulation Coach saves a new look on Sexton 4 last play, switching Sengun for the 1st time all game, then hitting him with a double late, Sengun rotating off Nice double of Clarkston, too We error on side of covering 2s, as last play, tie game, all shots are winners
Two of I thought the better plays I saw in the 4th last night was when Thompson snuffed out a slip screen and got his first block(interesting that Udoka mentioned the slip screens in the presser), and the play where Cam slipped a screen and Amen made a very quick read to get Cam the ball. I think it ended up being a foul but it was one of those lightning quick plays that it feels like Amen is always involved with. His elite athleticism is less about how explosive he moves with the ball and more about how quickly he can go from on the floor to diving into a passing lane like he did on that pass he stole from Olynyk after the missed three from Cam.
Cam and particularly Amen did a great job playing center field during those doubles - Amen’s speed and length made it tough for them to get a clean look on the shot but also ate up Clarkson and took away Sengun’s man diving to the hoop. …times like this I miss Eason too.
One thing is for sure, had we played normal D on that final play in regulation and Utah scored to win, cfnet prolly starts a thread about the final play and it lasts 5 pages…with a newfound energy to think we know enuf to criticize Coach. But when Coach changes up the D brilliantly, indicating we also practice this enough to use, and we snuff out Sexton, Clarkson, and a slipping Markkanen — ALL IN THE FINAL POSSESSION — it’s crickets…and even from you @SamFisher I’m disappoint … Which leads to my cfnet fatigue … and boredom
