It's the same way in GA. Live in the ATL metro area and you have to get those pricey emissions tests. Live outside the metro and have cars that wouldn't pass an emissions test in Namibia ( I do.).

Just so everyone who paid 12.50 for their last inspection knows, when I got my inspection done tuesday, the ppl I got it done from told me that as of next year, it's going to be a state-wide thing with pollution regulations and the cost of inspections. No more 12.50, hello 39.50.

Yep, I really wish I had never bought my American made 1992 Mustang GT. Now it has 180,000 miles, runs a 13.6 quarter mile NA, gets about 20 mpg, and is a daily driver. The drawback is that my lugnuts require more torque than most non-American cars put out.
Inspections are a joke...just another way to tax the people. Especially since they require them every year. DD
