My office has been moved to the Woodlands for a while, and I have no idea what good, local eateries they have around here. The places I have been to so far have been expensive and really sub-par. I typically spend $3-10 for lunch, so nothing fancy. What's good eatin' out here?
Check out that Culver's joint. I'm pretty sure it's at Six Pines and Research Forest. There's also this place called the Black Walnut Cafe that's pretty good. Unfortunately, I'm not real sure what street it's on, but I think it's Research Forest.
I think I'll look up Culver's, especially after the Burger thread. Not looking for any particular food. Just best bang for the buck. I'll eat just about anything. FYI, I'm at Sawdust and Grogan's Mill, if there's anything near there.
The Brooklyn Bagel Cafe in Panther Creek is good for breakfast/lunch. If you like Beck's Prime there's one of those in Grogan's Mill (and a Fuddruckers). There's a pizza buffet place (not Cici's) by the Black Walnut. You can get a 10 dollar lunch at Chuey's, Saltgrass, Friday's or other chains.
This chinese place called Pei Wei's. It's like a faster, cheaper PF Changs. Lettuce wraps for under $5.
Pei Wei's is good, but I have one of those in West U. Trying to find local good stuff. Mom and pop places, if any. I know I'm stretching with a "Master Planned" community, but I figured I'd give it a hot.
When I lived in the Woodlands a few years ago, there was a good Cajun joint in the strip center right next door to the Methodist church on Sawdust. Good po boys. Don't know if it's still there, though. BUT... there's always James Coney Island right across the street, so you're set either way.
That Cajun place is still there. Guess I'll try it out. Ever have/review anything other that po=boys?
Greek Tony's A Woodlands icon (if there is such a thing). Great sandwiches and good pizza. http://houston.citysearch.com/profi...&ulink=search__searchslot1_520__0_profile_2_1 Or Brothers Pizza. http://houston.citysearch.com/profi...ulink=search_2_searchslot2_520__0_profile_2_1
Pretty decent gumbo, if I remember. But I'm not hard to please. I should mention, too, that while it's not exactly dirt-cheap, the Ninfa's there is the best Mexican joint in the area. Keep well away from Marco's.
Greek Tony's will always be one of my favorites. The guy who owns it was my baseball coach in Little League. Awesome guy. He still has our championship banner from ORWALL up on the wall.
Well, we were very upset when this restaraunt moved, but you're in luck. I wish Chuy's would build a restaraunt on 290.
Check out Skeeters in the Cochrans Crossing shopping center. They have good burgers and excellent fajitas. It cant get a little busy though. If you want to do a little fancy, Amerigos off Sawdust is the best resturant in the area and has decent luch prices. Its around $10-15 but I couldnt give it a stronger reccomendation.
The pizza place is Double Dave's, a personal fave of mine (lunch buffet with soft drink is $7) A few other fast foods are in the area (McD's, Taco Bell, Wendy's, KFC, Quiznos, Subway, etc.). Chef Chan's is okay in the shopping center where Fudd's and Beck's is located. And I'll vouch for Greek Tony's... huge subs (I like the Italian myself), and greasy pizzas. Of course, the Woodlands Mall has a food court, and attached to the mall now is a Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, Landry's, and a couple other restaurants that probably bump above the $10 range. Other chains nearby I haven't seen mentioned yet... Chili's, Guadalajara's, Outback, Tortuga, Olive Garden, Tom's, Red Lobster, Benihana, Kobe, Perry's, Skeeter's, the list goes on...
