if they trade for barnes, it would be to help this year to get into playoffs, and then open up the ability to trade Dillon next year. but i guess the question is, why would sacramento trade barnes since he's been playing 30 minutes a night and playing well? why would they want tate and landale? I would never give up a first along with them to get barnes.
Rockets fans are gonna be so disappointed and angry when we pay Jalen Green the rookie extension this off-season

no doubt Barnes is a good shooter, but as a player he’s declining and I’m not sure adding another 3/4 makes much sense unless Tari is gonna be out for the rest of the year. Bari is still developing, but shooting 37% from 3. Tari is shooting 36%, Dillon is shooting 41%, Cam is shooting 38%. I still think our biggest need is a 2-way combo guard who can shoot, and a defensive big behind Sengun.
Yeah, Barnes doesn't make any sense to me either. Brooks, Tari & Cam have the minutes at the 3 spot sewn up while Jabari & Uncle Jeff have the 4 spot locked down. Jabari, Brooks, Tari & Cam are all shooting 38% or better from distance. Not a move that makes sense. Find a starting 2 or a backup 5 and we can talk.
I wonder if the idea with Barnes is to have him start in place of Jabari and have Jabari back up both the 4 and the 5 off the bench. I don't love that, but it makes more sense than just adding Barnes to the bench unit which already has a surfeit of forwards.
For whatever it’s worth, Sac folks on Reddit say his defense has declined the last couple years. He’ll be 33 next season with two more years at $18/$19 mil.
Forget about all the players. We need only one player: Paul George. He is the missing guy. We need him for future OKC duels.
Highly doubt they want Barnes for anything other than backup 4 to replace Uncle Jeff. Green is maybe too old to be the rotation backup 4 every night. I don't think that's worth what the Kings would ask for in return. Can't imagine they'd bench Jabari who is having an excellent season and has done everything that's been asked of him very well. Far more interested in a backup C or any elite scorer.
Backup Cs Drummond seems ideal Wagner/Bitz from magic would be good Xavier Tillman from Grizz would be underrated Gafford is okay Capela/claxton seem a bit expensive and unnecessary
Exactly. There’s no way we’d start Barnes over Smith. That’s absurd. He’d just give our second unit a shooting boost. Wouldn’t hate it, wouldn’t love it.
HOU in: Mikal Bridges, PJ Tucker, Mason Plumlee BKN in: Jalen Green, Victor Oladipo, Jaesean Tate LAC in: Royce Oneal, Jock Landale Plumlee and Tucker are out of Clips rotation, this allows them to get a wing + emergency big We address front court depth + cash in on Jalens upside Nets probably least likely to do this since they dont appear to be dealing Mikal, but we could grease it with picks if needed.
Kind of an odd one, but hear me out. Tate, Jeff Green, Oladipo, and a protected FRP to the Knicks for Grimes, Precious, and Evan Fournier. Grimes gives us much needed shooting, and Precious adds to our frontcourt depth. Both are young and on their rookie deals. The Knicks get useable/tradable players in Tate and Jeff Green, another RFP to add to their eventual trade for a star, and we take on Fournier's salary (which is essentially expiring because next season is a club option). Update: Because Precious can't be traded with other players until late Feb., the trade would have to be two separate transactions. Something like this: Tate for Precious Jeff Green, Oladipo, and a protected FRP for Evan Fournier and Grimes.
The Pascal Siakam trade solidifies a few things I’ve mentioned recently. When you have a young franchise player, and you have the opportunity to add a second star, you do it. You don’t worry about ages aligning.
Going to be tough to do that, Pacers just traded 3 firsts and players for a guy going to be a free agent next year. The market is high
Ok but 3 first round picks is still a lot even if they're all #18. That's allegedly an expiring contract. I find this Siakam deal insanely suspicious. There is no way in hell they made this deal without knowing for sure Siakam is staying. If not it would be one of the dumbest trades in NBA history right when Haliburton is blowing up.
