Ime Udoka didn't love the play of the Rockets starters in Philly

Well the stats are now on nba.com and just as I suspected, our starters won their minutes! Our starters played 16 total minutes together with an ORTG of 118.8 and a DRTG of 115.6, which is a net rating of 3.2. So yeah, our starters actually beat their starters. Not that this deserves an award or anything, but it just makes it odd that Ime would call them out specifically when they actually beat the Philly starters. I think thats pretty damn impressive.

What I dont love is Stone's lack of effort to this point to give Ime a better roster to work with.

oh you must be talking about rabid Sengun fans who rarely discuss his defensive deficiencies. And that’s stupid to speak for Coach Udoka. Especially when your response to my comment was “because he sucks”. This is telling of how little you understand of the game, team concept, and coaching.

Snarky comment that has nothing to do with my comment. So what was your intent there? Oh yeah a cheap dig. Petty. Stupid as always.

We don’t know if he is trying or not. It may be that no one is getting serious yet. I agree I think he needs to get a backup center at the very least. Brogdon or Caruso would be great to let Green prove himself off the bench. Amen, Cam and Tari are much more complimentary to green’s style than FVV and Sengun

When you look at it, we have a center who doesnt play defense and we have SG who can't shoot. That's the problem in a nutshell.

I said it before, you can not win like that. Your center has to be very good defensively or you have to have great defensive wings, i.e Jordan and Pippen types.

And Jalen, I would trade him. He is too inconsistent. However, if they decide to keep both him and Sengun, I would not offer them max deals. Their flaws are too glaring

Udoka is a young coach, needs some experience.

    Udoka is great.

Finding successful rotations has been tough understandably. Iffy bench at times. Injuries. Etc.

NONETHELESS... his rotations have been pretty stupid for much of the last month plus

I assume you think Jokic "doesn't play defense" too, right? If so, which guys on Denver do you consider to be great defensive wings? Which guys on that team are Jordan and Pippen types?

Lack of effort? We've over achieved in every way this season, in ways that exceeded your expectations. At what point will you give Stone credit

    Boston shot 24/47 threes (51.1%)
    Philly shot 15/31 threes (48.4%)

We lost two games convincingly because the new blitz and scramble perimeter defense is a work in progress. Those teams kept swinging the ball to the open man and rained long bombs on us. Maybe team will get better at it with practice, so I don't fault the coaches for trying. It's new for this team. Type of defense expends lot of energy on a short schedule.

Everyone (including Alp) can get better, but it's weird that people are saying it about Alp implying rim protection when last two games it's the threes that killed us. PHIL scored 45 pts and Bos with 72 pts from threes.

People like you should be banned from this board. You offer nothing substantive just fallacies and insults. Way too many trolls on this board looking to pick a fight by choosing the opposing side. Its like online gang wars. If youre not a Sengun fan get off the board. The **** is the point of being a Rockets fan if you hate our best player. Youre just torturing yourself. Go cheer for the lakers *******.

This is exactly is my point and if you mention this you are a "sengun only fan" lol People saying Sengun is a bad defender never say it with stats. Most of his issues with defense is making up for poor perimeter defense when Jalen and Fred get blown by then sengun misses them at the rim and its his fault lol

How is it a massive failure if they don’t make the play in? They have been one of the 2-3 worst teams in the league for years. Anyone that expected the play in, had some very high expectations.

This season isn’t about getting ran off the floor in the play in, it’s about playing more competitively and player development. Most of the players that matter are playing better this season compared to last. Jalen Green has his thumb up his ass but Jabari, Şengün, etc. have been better.

It’s how they played. They were playing soft and not focused.

Udoka REALLY dislikes soft players. Effort and toughness are something that can be brought every possession.

How about a useable backup big?
This move wouldn't seem to require much effort, and is what I meant in my previous post.

Sure, Stone deserves credit for getting us to this point, but additional changes are needed.

We wont be exceeding my expectations if we miss the play-in.
I said before the season began that I thought we would miss the play-in by 2 games or so.
We are only 2 games ahead of that at present.

I’ve already explained how it would be a massive failure

Every roster in the nba has weaknesses that need to be addressed. That's not something new to humanity. How about we let him do his job given it's not even mid-season yet

Yep, a large percentage of the NBA consists of softer players.......

    Too bad for him.

I still think it has something to do with the bench being horribly unbalanced........the starters have to put extra effort to mitigate that.....

the starter quality is basically just Play In quality (Borderline Playoff).....

That is too much to ask for in 82 games.....
