oh hell yeah. if he can reach rasheed wallace level, we'll take it. not sure if he'll ever be the post player Rasheed was in his prime, but we'll take those high post fade aways, midrange, 3 point shots and great defense. i hope jabari gains 30 pounds of muscle over the years while maintaining his agility.
I do not think he grasped that basketball is really as complex and as easy as one makes it to be..... Sometimes as a role player he cannot impact the game as much as a star player. He is going to be real good but I think he won't ever feel secure unless he is on a Top 2 team and even then his teammates or himself would make mistakes. Perfectionism is fine but sports is about winning and not really perfectionism.
Honestly, perfectionism is not fine. I hate working with perfectionists. This world would be a happier place if there were no perfectionists. But I've got to admit that a lot of great athletes, artists, scientists, etc. were perfectionists or they wouldn't have achieved what they did. Back on topic, what Jabari needed last year was good coaching. Barking at player mistakes should be the coach's job, not a rookie's.
Bari is on another steady streak after tweaking ankle ….I need him to go straight up with his middles he front rims everytime he fades
Beyond the stats, I really liked what I saw from Jabari against Detroit--he was doing all the little things we need from him. Rim running, driving into open lanes, sucking up rebounds, blocking shots, spacing the floor. He even made some good passes that didn't result in assists and you can tell he is working hard on becoming a better connective player within the offense.
Every player has a role and right now, his is to be a do everything type of player. And that's fine. But like the poster said earlier, he's going to be a $100M player, Sengun $100M player, Jalen $100M, Tari $90M....what do the Rockets do? If they decide to keep Jabari and trade one of the others, can he become a featured player like he showed in Summer League? To me that's the next step for him.
its obivous, we can't keep all three. The fact of the matter is that the GM and owner need to look at the big picture and long-term goal of this team and realise that we are years away from contending. I don't think any of them are untoachable, even sengun as much as we like him has his flaws. In the end, all are assets and are young. We have to be like OKC and maximize our assets instead of looking for immediate gratification. its the only way. A super star has to want to join us via trade or free agency and we just have to be good enough when the time comes.
He's a steady player but he's low impact. Like he can have a 20/10 or a 6/5 game and you couldn't tell which is which. You don't really feel him out there unlike Tari who has an obvious pop and change the entire game with his presence. He kind of reminds me of a bigger Harrison Barnes, like they're steady but you just want more.
Well… there are not that many players that are capable of eventually scoring 20 points a night while shooting 50/40/85 and can also get 10 rebounds and a block.
It sucks that this supposed defense juggernaut at the PF position, can't even be matched up onto Randle/heavier players because he is so weak physically. I'm not attempting to hate on Jabari here like I do frequently with the waste of a roster spot Jalen, more so just deflating that - me being a defense lover - the defensive juggernaut is only a juggernaut in specific matchups.
In a perfect world Jabari could be a Draymond type that could defend the 5. It’s not a perfect world, I fear. I sincerely like the guy a lot. He’s super easy to root for. But damn if we didn’t tank at the wrong time or lose out by dumb luck that found its way to Orlando. I can say that amongst rockets fans but outside of that circle I’d cut someone for Jabari.
