Well, he is not 21 much longer, at least be correct, he is 22 in February and that is in less than a month.

And yes, while cruel, his birthday is on the trade deadline, go and figure how he must feel when he is traded in the future....

I find it funny, fans have no ability to tear a player down but player have the ability to underwhelm.....

In my opinion Jalen is coming around! Shooting stroke looks better and turnovers are down, and he’s finding ways to make himself useful even when he’s not shooting.

We lived through that awful December, so why not give him a chance in the spring?

Obviously he could—and maybe should be better…but I think he’s learning Ime’s offense and learning how to play more structured basketball. In the grand scheme of things, if it only took him about 4 months to start to understand real basketball, there may still be a lot of untapped potential in Jalen still.

again, just an opinion of mine, which is worth just as much or as little as anybody else’s

The amount of hula hoops people go thru to discredit all things jalen is fascinating.

I've heard of fake rebounds during the Westbrook era but fake assists is something new to me.

Don't you think he was given too many chances? You always write that he should be given a chance. I hope you're right.

I had a phase when I thought to my self that “I rather see Rockets keeping Jalen than giving him away to see him break out as super star” to a phase of now thinking “Let him find the new team where he can play he’s style of basketball, I’ve seen enough”

He has definitely been given many many chances, and that comes with the territory of being the number 2 pick. That’s why I get why some people are frustrated, because technically he didn’t EARN those chances. That said, I think he’s finally starting to understand how to play through Alpi, play with Fred, and play under Ime. That’s something; a good start if nothing else.

I will never have a problem with people criticizing Jalen, it’s their right as fans and part of the fun in following basketball—and if we’re being honest Jalen has given much reason for their criticism. That said, I feel like since Jalen is being given chances, I’m glad I’m seeing some steps in the right direction instead of watching a situation like Josh Jackson, who never had the basketball intelligence or work ethic to turn it around

He has incredible potential, we need him a lot. I agree, he can still do it, but I don't want the rest of the season to be garbage for the team.

I have no problem if he is re-calibrated as a role player....but I have a problem with him as the 2nd option ......

he is 21 right now and in his third season.........3rd....................Jermaine O'Neal is a prime example of a player who took a long time to come good. Wasn't until his 5th season that he started to blossom. Jalen hasn't underwhelmed at all. He is not at his peak yet, so there are no expectations yet. Some people want him to be a finished product at 21 going on 22..............

some fans here just want to trade everyone, even young players. They have no patience at all.

I think he's already the third option this year behind Alpi and FVV when he's in shoot mode

Well, I was not the one saying trade him because you would not be getting anything good in return.

But I would not stand to give him a massive extension either.

There is patience and there is being smart.

If he really becomes Brandon Ingram, well, Ingram is not that great either......who really cares.

By the time you are looking for a better guy like Luka and not Jalen Green the project.

Pota-to, Pota-ta..... but why are people faulting fans for not being Jalen Green supporters.....

There is no rule that states you have to support Jalen Green.

They are not fake but just look at FVV and his assists with Siakam in Toronto at 6 or 7.

    And with Alpe at 9-11......

You do not have Alpe on an average team so you take his averages.....

This is called the David West scenario when Chris Paul made West an All Star

but without CP3 David West was just a good player averaging 16 and 7.

You got to realize that the player is as good as the Point Guard or the Center you play with.....and calm the heck down!

I think it's ridiculous to constantly talk about age, Jalen Green has been the same player for 3 years, he is not improving, forget the statistics, I don't look at the statistics of young players too much. He plays street basketball, no team has the patience for him except Houston.

His shot choices are so wrong that even those who play basketball on the street will understand. People may look at the statistics sheet and say that this player played badly, but basketball is also a matter of luck, you do everything right but the shot doesn't go in, someone needs to teach Jalen Green how to play basketball, he won't be able to find a contract after 2-3 years, if he goes with this mentality.

A young big man banging against grown man (on top of the fact big men typically take the longest to adjust to the NBA) compared to a guard hanging on the perimeter.

'Jalen hasn't underwhelmed at all'. The jokes write themselves with Jalen fans.

By the way, want to quote those minutes per game Jermaine played in years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5?

It's almost like you've completely ignored the fact that Portland didn't play a young big man who didn't earn the right to play and get unlimited opportunities.

His minutes nearly tripled from his 4th to his 5th year. Guess what - Jalen's minutes can't triple to expand his stats.

Better luck next time (don't make such a horrible comparison though next time)

I wonder if Jermaine in year 3 was just as bad at so many facets of his game showing zero improvement, as he was his first day in the NBA. I also wonder if he was so consistently a net negative and never, ever a positive contributor on 50% of the basketball court. (hint: don't answer that, for your arguments sake)

The age argumement gets even funnier when you start saying the ages of other Rockets.

    Sengun - 21

    Cam - 19

No matter which way they try to harp up Jalen, it falls flat pretty damn quickly.

    Which is frightening.

Jalen played a good game tonight. But I’m now convinced that Cam should be getting the bulk minutes at the 2. He’s gonna be a star. I think he’s our 2nd best prospect on the roster after Sengun.

Let us be cautious with the word star, just be grateful that we have Sengün and Van Vleet playing on a high level.

Cam is assertive but he has to perform when he is not feeling great about himself.

Ingram isn't great but averages 22ppg on 50 percent shooting...........also his 8th year. It seems some fans won't be happy unless Jalen is Michael Jordan the second
