Reading comprehension fail? Re-read your original post. Bucks literally won a whole ass Finals series with 5 guys that either couldn’t or didn’t shoot well. Not once did I mention that ALL of them couldn’t shoot for their career as a whole. As a matter of fact I said Jrue is a known good shooter and Middleton is great. Just wanted to let you know you’re wrong…. as always and of course you double down with some condescending BS like you always do. No need to reply. Have a nice morning junior.
awesome they won with 4 proven floor spacers and 1 non Giannis. I knew that a long time ago already when that's the minimum you need to win. looks like it's a surprise to you hilariously. you're about as late as the day you joined. that's the era you're stuck in What they actually shot is literally irrelevant dummy. Proven shooter is the concept that alludes your 5th grade mind so with your logic because all 5 guys didn't shoot 40% from 3, that means you can win with multiple non shooters. what an idiot. it's time you go back in hiding scrub. it's always a thrill to see what losers like you who act like they know wtf they're talking about but damn I can tell in real life you have 0 basketball iq. behind that computer still exposes you without a doubt
Funny thing about Giddey is that he can hit wide open catch and shoot threes according to stats this season (I'm guessing his stats are good becuase he has a huge amount of open threes with teams sagging off him like the Rockets). I just don't see him shoot it often enough for it to matter.
Then we have definitional differences. For example, taking threes and being good at it are two different things. What I mean by that is someone like Marcus Smart is not someone I would call a good or even average three point shooter. Randall and Mann were not shooting well the last time I looked. I agree with you that it is a lot harder to win without 4-5 shooters, but it isn't impossible - and teams are starting to adjust because everyone wants 4-5 shooters on the floor. The Heat made the Finals in the bubble with two starters that were terrible from three as well.
Nook, I don't suppose anything has reached your ears about the Rockets and any roster intentions. Does the team want to see where their young guys are with the new coach or would they make the right trade this season to bolster their relative success?
Marcus Smart has become a proven respectable shooter and he can definitely make you pay. That's what a proven floor spacer on the floor is. He literally just had a night going 8-14 from 3 in a win over the lakers Mann isn't shooting well this year but that doesn't take away from him being a career 36% shooter. He can space the floor which is the only reason why he plays over westbrick Randall is a career 33% shooter. While that's not shooting lights out or anything, he does provide the ability to space the floor. And clearly we've seen that plenty of times for this all star The guys in the latter list of names in the previous post DO NOT make you pay for leaving them open. they aren't real threats from the perimeter. Just like the centers that don't shoot 3. That's the difference.
I haven't heard anything but based on what Udoka and Stone have said, I wouldn't rule out a deal but they are building around the young guys.
Sengun is shooting 30% on 2 attempts per game. This is the first year that he is being allowed to shoot. Brook Lopez shoots 34% for his career. I believe that in 2 years, with the coaching we have, Sengun will also shoot at least 34%. The Rockets obviously knew about Thompson's lack of shooting before they drafted him. In 2 to 3 years, which I believe is the Thompson timeline (based on the FVV contract) the hope is that Sengun will be a serviceable 3 point shooter. I have to believe that was part of the organizations thinking in regards to the future offense. The Rockets are committed to developing these players as they keep repeating. It will take 2 to 3 years to determine if this was a bust pick. A lot of strong opinions in this thread. Will be fun to revisit this one down the road.
Bingo. Which is why he is going to play even if he is not a good shooter right away. They didn't throw him out there in a game and saw him shoot and were like "Oh ****, this guy can't shoot"...Even though they scouted him all it takes is to watch a little film of him and see he was not a good shooter. Of course he's got to improve in that area and other areas, but just like the coaches who decided to put him in the rotation we shouldn't be surprised that he's not a great three point shooter right now.
well i'll say this, considering a pretty significant number of folks were trying to say i told you so about his shot after seeing summer videos of his shot in open gyms and then some summer league, there are folks that are still surprised. they're just not keeping that same energy anymore
Ah is he.....I think they just show the Joker 's clutch shots. His attempts go up in the Playoffs......3-5.....
The SINGLE most important skill is being able to shoot, it is more important than anything else. I can't believe kids are getting drafted and haven't worked on shooting. DD
Yeah I think really depends on how they defend him inside the 3 point line. I think at the end of the day Sengun has to develope a reputation of being a capable shooter, and then after that they will jump on every one of his pump fakes at the 3
Once a player has a reputation of being a deadeye shooter they don't need to take a decent volume to be considered a threat anymore, defenders will never leave them open regardless. Dirk in his championship season only averaged 2.3 three pointers per game which was low even for the time. He was 98th in the entire league in 3pt attempts per game, fewer than 4ppg scorer Steve Blake. He took fewer threes that year than Andre Iguodala. It's a bit interesting how a player gets their shooting reputation. Jokic and Lebron have almost identical career 3P% with Lebron having higher volume, but people talk about how important it is to surround Lebron with shooters while Jokic is treated like a sniper.
