PGs - 4 (Ward, Lue, Gaines, Sura) SGs - 3 (TMac, Pike, AG) SFs - 2 (JJ, Boki) PFs - 4 (JH, MoT, Spoon, Padgett) C's - 1 (Yao) Players - 14 guaranteed contracts Either they plan on giving a lot of C minutes to MoT or there should be a trade coming or CD's banking on Yao playing 48x82 after seeing him in the Olympics. Padgett is ok, but at 3 mill? And for 5 years? Don't tell me we couldn't afford to spend a little more to get better players (like pg) when you're signing 4th string pfs to a 5x3 contract. I can't see signing him to this contract if you are going to put him on the IR. Assuming Gaines and AG ride the IR, we have a full roster and only 1 center.
No effing way Padgett gets a 5 year deal. He signed for the minimum last year and deserved it. Banqui has to be joking. Edit: Okay I just realized that we can't possibly sign padge to that contract. We don't have much of our MLE left, and since we just signed Padge last year, he wouldn't have any Bird Rights (Early or Larry).
Agreed, I'd love to dump Mo, but I don't think we're going to find any takers. There's no way the Rocks gave that type of deal to Padgett, he averaged less than 10 minutes a game and played in only 58.
There's no way the Rockets sign Padgett for 5 years $14 million if they don't move Howard or Mo. Considering this comes on the day which the expiration for the trading period restriction of the TMac trade, Juwan Howard may be a Chicago Bull. At least Padgett can stretch the defenses since he can knock down the 3 pointer.
but if you guys are saying we're trading howard, who's going to start at the 4? Does this mean we are going to trade for a 4 that can also play the 5, hint hint chandler. Or it could mean chandler and mutombo.
We need details to see what the make of this is. They definitely don't need another PF on the roster, even one making the minimum. There has to be something else going on to sign him at all.
Ditto. I would like to do a sign-and-trade and get rid of MoT. Bring in a good backup center and a good backup PF for Howard.
Did I miss something? When did Howard's name become so closely associated with the Bulls. I know we were in talks w/ Chicago about Chandler, but those stopped, and I don't even remember Howards name being in the article. Can anyone fill me in?
Until someone posts a story from a legit news source, there is no way of knowing what the contract was worthy, so stop speculating.
