I won’t be able to watch it. Have a basketball game to coach. That sucks.

Wait…….Dolphins at Chiefs, potentially the best matchup of the weekend, would be exclusively on Peacock?!!! How the hell is the NFL OK with that?!

I mean we can mad at the league, but viewership numbers don't lie.

They want the streaming platforms to have success so they can continue to entice the amazon’s, YouTube’s, and Netflix’s to spend huge money on the rights fees. The best way to do that is to have good matchups.

Bad matchups + streaming-only options = disaster. Also, let’s be honest… very few people are using antennas or are in a situation where they can’t stream.

Local markets always get the game on a local station. Even if the game was on ESPN.

Yeah, but as inflation continues to tighten everyone’s bottom line, it’s been in the news that people are getting rid of extraneous streaming subscriptions left and right and that includes the likes of more fringe streaming services like Peacock, Disney, etc. If it was on Netflix or Amazon, I might agree with you, but Peacock? Hell no

With the Texans recent history, the game could be scheduled at 8:00 am on Saturday on the Lifetime network for all I care.

Nobody actually pays for peacock, do they? It’s seemingly lumped into every other pay cable/satellite service.

Everybody is still finding a way to watch the ESPN games. If NBC/Comcast wants to take advantage of this nation’s infatuation with all things NFL football, I don’t see that as a “bad business plan”.

If there’s one sport that people will do whatever it takes to find a way to watch it, it’s the NFL… and the networks and the league fully knows this.

Also, these sorts of discussions have been going back almost 30 years… back when local blackouts were a very common thing and people had to find sports bars or friends with old school satellite dishes to watch the game.
