Some more details from a previous interview added into an online article today: (Doug) Vosik (President of Marketing and Communications) added the four versions of the uniform will be completely different from each other and not simply a repeat in various colors. That would be a way to make sure everyone gets what they want. Before drawing up designs, the team set up a fan council, which provided feedback that varied from fans who wanted to keep the uniforms traditional to others who wanted a drastic change. Players also gave their input on what they’d like to wear starting next season. Vosik thinks all corners of the fan bases will find what they're looking for in at least one of the four new designs.
I can't read that article because I can't go beyond the paywall, but I like the little leaks. While I posted about liking the idea of an all red look, I'm wondering if the color rush unis will be H Town Blue. That would be an awesome F U to the Adams Family.
Love the logo. But the Texans just feels too… Texas. Apollos was cool because of the Space City. Oilers wasn’t space-y.. but could have been a good chance to switch over. Don’t hate Texans, but wasn’t in love with it.

If you said, 'Hey, I’m into this bull thing, let’s get wild.' We have one for that. and if someone said, 'Hey, I want you to pay homage to H-Town Blue,' and if the players are saying, 'I want something tough, I want something mean,' we’ve got something for that.”
Was this color combo ever worn in a game? I don't recall seeing it. https://www.nflshop.com/houston-texans/jerseys/mens-houston-texans-cj-stroud-nike-black-fashion-game-jersey
Apollos was easily the best name they had come up with when they were deciding what to name the team. Additionally, I have seen some of Stallions logos they actually designed and nearly went with and they were awesome (don't know on the internet where they might be though).
There have been quite a few unofficial uniforms out there, some approved marketing gimmicks and some unapproved. I can't keep the unofficial ones straight.
@SuraGotMadHops Ugh. I hope that one of the 4 is awesome and eventually wins everyone over as the permanent uni.
Apollos, Toros, and Stallions were all fine names. Stallions is a bit played out with the Colts and Broncos and Chargers all having horse mascots, but it would still be way better than Texans. I want to know what mass psychosis this city was under when they picked the name. Just awful. Worst in all of American pro sports.
I’m sure you know this, but it was the concept of a Space City team name that was in line with the Rockets and Astros by paying homage to the Apollo lunar landings.
Stallions and Colts in same division would seem odd…of course nothing can stop the staggering domination of predator cat branding in pro sports lol
It's odd but no more odd than the Titans and Texans basically having the same color scheme as it seems it will be lol
