We all do it man, I think we're already hyped up and then it's easy to react directly to a player. This board turns on people especially quickly though and it must be very stressful to them. I wonder how they even enjoy the season when something so small and frequent can irritate them.
Absolutely correct! He was great for a spurt and it went to his head and now he no longer plays his role. He ‘s turned into a gun who takes ill advised shots when better players are on the floor. He’s also not playing the same shutdown defense he played earlier in the season. He also no longer makes the advisable pass to others who are either hot or open like FVV does. Amazing how quickly he stopped doing the things that was turning him into a fan favorite here.
He's better than I expected and has been a decent backup PG before Amen is ready. What more do you want? He still has the highest 3pt% among Rockets who have played more than 100 NBA minutes.
I don't hate him at all, I think he has been great value at the level he's paid. But when Sengun calls for the ball, you PASS IT TO HIM, ROLE PLAYER! Or you will get chest bumped so hard that you get a DNP next game.
I appreciate him for what he's done but I do think it's time for Amen/Cam to be moved ahead of BOTH Holiday/Tate in the pecking order. Now if they are booty they get sat for the vets in a millisecond. But their talent is evident and we need to start devoting consistent minutes for them.
It's a little absurd to say you "hate" a role player signed on a one-year minimum deal who basically led the team in 3-point shooting percentage and was a big part of the Rockets success the first third of the season. He's going through a rough stretch, but dude just got done shooting 46% from the 3-point line in the month of December and he was huge in helping the second unit with Amen out. He was their best player in that win over OKC. I agree I'd like to see more of his minutes going to Amen and Cam going forward, but you can't put minute distribution on Holiday. He's not the one determining the rotations. And over time, if Amen and Cam keep outplaying him, he'll probably end up getting cut from the regular rotation barring injury. But he's been worth every penny he signed for, and I hope he stays on and continues to see some minutes the rest of the way. If Amen can truly own that backup PG spot and run the offense, I really like the idea of Holiday getting minutes playing off ball as a spotup shooter who could defend the smaller guard.
