@Kim has explained this to you a million times. Right now under law agents HAVE TO DO A fear screening per applicable per law. That's the law. That's the biggest issue which causes a massive Backlog cuz agents can't deport before screening. Biden is proposing giving agents the power to deport before screening. It's literally the most right wing thing ever proposed. It's to the right of what Bush proposed. The issue is Republicans don't want to fix it at all. They love scaring their base @Commodore
At least you aren't spouting off saying that he isn't letting them in anymore. Are you proud of his december records? Do you blame (credit) climate change like mayorkas?
Sadly, he is not one. Another deceived victim of the social media misinformation campaign... Immigration reform does need to occur but neither party seems to want to do anything about it. If you made it illegal for companies to hire them, you think they'd still risk life and limb to trek up here? @Astrodome You need to look at the industries that benefit from illegal immigrants instead of blaming whoever is in charge. Next you'll be praising states for reintroducing child labor laws the GOP loves so much not realizing you're going backwards instead of forward.
Why do you say neither party wants to do anything about it when biden is proposing the most right wing change in the history of immigration talk. He's literally getting rid of assylm laws to get the border under control. What's "both sides" about it exactly
No, I won't. I am for legal immigration and I agree it needs reform. Biden could make some changes to curb this unsustainable crisis.
It's funny how that works, legal immigration for the tech industries seem to happen at a very quick pace while illegal immigration again benefits who exactly? If you aren't willing to hold those corporations accountable then there is nothing further to talk about. Keep blaming the imaginary boogeyman...
maga republicans don't want to do anything to solve the immigration problem because they don't want to help republicans and President Biden be successful?
As other have noted Biden is proposing making changes. There is the workings of a bill in Congress but senators like Ron Johnson have said they will vote against it. In the meantime the House is proposing impeachment on Biden on the border when it’s up to Congress to make significant change
Meanwhile maga republicans have migrated to the south escaping their cold winters for a few minutes on fox news...
I know you are smart enough to know that this isn't really the case. Even Mike Johnson basically acknowledged this when pressed, and he used his spicket analogy. If Biden used all the power he had to "turn off the spicket" like Johnson said Trump did, it still wouldn't change the fundamentals. If anything it might make it worse for illegal immigration if Biden turned off all of the infrastructural components. Even Trump knew this, and that's why he went with this magical "Build a Wall" mantra. He knew there's no presidential level policy change that's going to impact it. So he resorted to magical thinking with his base. The fact is the problem lies in Venezuela, Honduras, etc. There's no immediate solution other than using the military or black ops to install a new regime and "nation build" .... or just making the US a hellhole country where staying in Venezuela looks better or they go south to South America instead of North. .... There is no presidential policy solution for entire nations collapsing and millions of people fleeing for their lives. Is there a Federal Bill passed by Congress that could allow for a solution.... possibly but that requires ALOT of spending, government personnel, and even then is likely to fail at getting full control of the situation. If president's like Bush or Nixon were in charge I think they'd probably okay taking out Maduro first and foremost, and replacing him with a puppet Capitalist. As an old school Republican that I think you are, isn't that what you'd naturally gravitate towards anyways? Is that what you think Biden should do? You are smart enough to understand the REAL options right?
I'm semi grunching the last 40 pages because it's the same stuff repeated and it's the holidays. This is so complicated and not as easy as the Republicans want to make it out to be. Congress has to change laws. Congress has to fund the immigration system. The president can be more hardcore around the edges, sure, but cannot change the law. International relations is a huge part of this. Nicaragua is weaponizing US laws against us. https://www.voanews.com/a/african-asian-migrants-seek-nicaragua-shortcut-to-us-/7418273.html https://apnews.com/article/cuba-nic...aniel-ortega-3abf2fc16e51e86eb8b25c913b8ec464 We need need need international cooperation from Mexico and Latin America. We need help from other 1st world countries to take in migrants if they want to help humanitarian crises. We need to help countries like Venezuela improve so that their entire population is Not trying to escape to America. Every single thing above is so complicated and hard to fix on its own, and yet all of it needs to be vastly improved to create a functional immigration system. It's so much easier to do nothing and blame the other side.
abbott doesn't really care about solving the immigration problem, he is it in for the grift. But so laughable seeing him and his chair in full camo...
