Was it because he didn't get involved in offense much? He is just starting his second season and around like 8 months of actual playing NBA games They won easily past two games so everybody should get a pass for individual performance since the team put together back to back 2nd half blowouts Bari was due for a young player off night after playing damn good prior stretch of games on both sides of the ball, he'll bounce back because his shooting will be in demand and he will deliver for most part, especially between now and year 4
horrible - come on man… his D and rebounding been there .. Alpi and Jalen and FVV been carrying the offensive load… he’s not going to shoot 100%
Coming back from an ankle injury he seems like he is still trying to get right with his body. His shot form tonight looked a little stiff - shooting more straight up and down than he was earlier this year which takes some power away from his legs and not coincidentally, 4 of his 6 misses were short tonight. Give him a few more games to continue to recover - he will be fine.
He doesn’t have D. If his shot is not falling, Jabari is basically a useless player on the court in my opinion. He has no other skill than a shot. I do think they need to run plays for him and use him better.
Your “opinion” is wrong. He has one of the best defensive ratings in the NBA despite being only 20 years old.
Jabari closed out on so many shooters yesterday and forced them into either a crappy middie, turnover or into a crowded paint. He was amazing on defense yesterday as he's usually been.
as usual wrong. you snitch on yourself as a box scorer watcher and clearly don't watch games. 0 concept of the actual game if you can't count how many pts are on the board but at least you're consistent being a true bari hater. it's just shame you're hating on one of the last players anyone should be on this team
I've been impressed with Jabari's defense this year but I didn't think yesterday was his finest moment - I thought he got caught flat footed a few times (or really trying to respond on a soar ankle) but I agree his effort was outstanding. I think that ankle is still bothering him and made him maybe a tad less effective - running people off the 3pt line was great, but normally he is able to do that without running himself out of the play and yesterday he seemed to lack some of the control to stop himself in a timely manner(which also earned him one of those fouls). Again, I agree he is playing great - those were just some nitpicks to say he wasn't "at his best" yesterday.
Franchise Role Player. When he gets his max contract it will be the biggest thread on Clutchfans for the next 5 years on whether he is worth the max. We will be forced to go all in on a Sengun-Jabari contract structure and it will be interesting to see who ends up the casualties between Green-Tari-Amen-Whitmore. Enjoy the next 1-3 years guys, it will be all gone soon. Let's have some fun before it does though.
Being a franchise role player isn't that bad in today's NBA I dont see people complaining about Klay Thompson, Al Horford, LMA, JJJ, Holiday, Chris Bosh, Bam Adebayo etc when they were in their prime and getting the max. As long as he is efficient and good at both sides of the ball people won't be complaining. Secondly as a young player Bari's max will only be in the 35M range and half of the max players like Harden get. By that time the capspace will be bigger as well so I wouldn't worry about it. If he is worth the max then Rox in 3 yrs will be one of the top teams in the league.
For one, the term “role player” has essentially lost all meaning. Second, Bari is the exact type of player you DON’T have to worry about paying, because even when his shot isn’t falling, he’s contributing in other ways.
Right now? Brooks. But the difference isn’t that great, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Bari is a DPOY candidate at 27.
Jabari after he fills out is going to be an absolute monster defensively and offensively. He's already very active on defense and you can see he's working on his mid range. A core of Amen/Jabari/Sengun/Cam has insane potential. Cam will be the scorer, Sengun the hub and Jabari the 3 and D with Amen setting up the table and being the wing stopper on defense.
definitely not, it was no slight on him. I just can't really picture a scenario where Jabari is 5-7x all-star type franchise player. Best case for me is he is a 1-2x all-star and flirts with all-nba teams on occasion. That's just what I see his ceiling from what 1.4 NBA seasons has given me. Jabari-s lack of creativity and is a very stiff athlete defensively are his weaknesses that prevent him from being a true "franchise player" in my eyes.
The problem is there will be another Jabari most definitely in the starting holes.....Alexandre Sarr looks like another of those.....7'1. He is not that rare to find in future drafts.....maybe not the same Jabari, but a Jabari with a post up game or less shooting. There is someone out there in the near future who will vie for his All Star spot.
