yeah that what I meant it, sorry, I typed it wrong, I was going to write it, that the home team picks, and the away team has to contrast it
I would guess red helmets as well. What's been interesting is that I feel like I've been seeing a monochrome red Texans logo on a lot of merch. Demeco has worn it a lot, and it was featured prominently enough at the draft. I'm wondering if we'll have a look that is monochrome red. Like no blue at all. Or monochrome red, with H Town Blue accent and no traditional blue (think traditional jersey style with H Town Blue sleeves and everything else monochrome red, including numbers and all of the logo). I don't have Photoshop skills, but I'd love to see that. Would probably be the best looking uniform in the league, imo.
I like the logo but the name could be better. It's just a reused Dallas name. Something space related like the Astros and Rockets would've been cool.
If they wanted to incorporate Texas into their name they should have just went with the Texas Terror...
I get the dislike/nonchalance about the Texans name...but that is f***ing terrible. It's not some semi-pro Arena League team. I personally don't have a problem with "Texans". I was hoping for Gamblers but no way that was happening in this day and age. Apollos might've been cool.
Browns, Jets, Dolphins, Rams, Commanders, Bills, the various Big Cat nicknames, etc... Those are inspiring? Do you know what makes a team name inspiring? Winning. Texans would have the GREATEST nickname if they had a Super Bowl.
I mostly agree with you (definitely on the name) but just because they have 4 doesn’t mean they will be bad. Most teams have at least 3 with light, dark, and color rush/alternate. Add in a “throwback” uni and boom you’re at 4. I can see how it could be overkill, but I am also hopeful that they can be good too. on a game fit request. I want the all liberty white, blue numbers, red helmets look. Like they did with the all deep steel blue color rush ones.
What we know for sure: the logo is not changing; there will be four variations, at least one of which will include Columbia blue as a secondary color; and the current default home uniform - navy helmet/navy jersey/white pants - is going away. We have no other *confirmed* details. The uniforms will be unveiled in the weeks/days prior to the '24 draft.
This is 100% true. There really couldn't be a worse name than "Browns" - and yet the city literally threatened a lawsuit to keep it. Names of any kind eventually grow into the person or team or company... I always favored Apollos because it aligned with the Astros and Rockets - but I don't have a problem with Texans, at all - and I'm not sure they could've done better with the logo. It remains a terrific design.
