Macedonia was ruled for 600 years by the Ottomans and settled by many ethnic Turks. Also, saying stuff like "really Turkish" is a little bit racist. Here's a interview from Kosova, for example
I like that we had him running towards the rim more instead forcing the post up on Duren. Sengun has insane variety to his game now, we have the luxury of mixing it up from a lot of different positions. Im personally not a a fan of just having him fight for a post up every possession unless it's a mismatch. It's wastes too much energy and shot clock.
He is also a completely different person. More fun personality loves the American way ie Hip hop and drip, you know what I'm sayin? More appreciative of his gifts from the basketball gods.
Sengun is ballin and should get serious all star look if the Rockets can stay at least few games above .500 until the break His stats/impact is already AS worthy
a lot of good stuff: 1) looked bad in the first quarter, played the rest as a leader all-star, totally dominant and controlling the play 2) more 2 man game with Green, give and go, or pocket passes after the screen. 3) slightly more cutting activity when he has the ball 4) more face up game as a runner, this definitely draws more fouls and opens up a lot of opportunities if he is doubled in the high post 5) the ft thing is insane, he is 85% over last 11 games now, and getting to the line more 6) 9 assists in 3 quarters, no highlight assists though
Jalen Duren is exactly the kind of player some here wished we had instead of Sengun. And Sengun showed exactly what the difference between a role player and a star is tonight. I can confidently proclaim that I was one of the first here to see allstar potential in Sengun, going back to before he was even drafted. But now I’m doubting if my assessment was right, because these are damn near superstar numbers…May need to recalibrate expectations.
