y’all bringing up weak shooting PG’s who played in an era where being able to shoot wasn’t nearly as important and spacing wasn’t nearly as big a deal Amen not only has a busted jumper, but his handle is loose and weak Amen’s turnover rate is currently higher than his assist percentage
Amen has been playing the 3 when he comes on the floor. He will get the keys to the offense in year 2/3. His mid-range game looks promising. If he can drain those at a good clip he won't need a 3 pointer in his game to be a difference maker.
The conversation about young players always revolve around their ages and brings out the worst people on the internet... "Jeez he's only 20 yo give the kid some time to develop i hate this place sometimes" people. These basketball cops will not let you watch a kid and not adore him. You are going to enjoy watching him and you are going to come here to say that he's the 2nd coming of Kobe/MJ. Despite the fact that only 2 out of 100 players who can't shoot end up becoming superstar you CAN'T watch that kid on your team struggle every night and think to yourself man i guess he is not the one. "He will beat the odds" now repeat it 154 times a day until you become one of us you heretic.
I can’t promise Amen will shoot like he needs to - but if he does, everything else is there for him to be special.
This is his rookie yr, he's barely played and we knew his shooting was is weakest attribute at this stage and we're debating if he's going to be a bust?? SMH
Maybe that is the player you banked on but I am pretty adamant that he is not a scorer.....so I think his scoring would be limited. I think Cam looks better in limited time, time will tell though. I do not understand why fans have to select their player, just roll with whoever develops better.
he played his best game so far tonight, but he still gotta get confortable running an offense. i hope the handles and the shot improve over time.
His 3pter tonight looked smooth and confident. I’m curious how he will look over the next 20 games. It was nice seeing him get that steal Cade too.
If you followed Nook you would know that he rarely raves about a player the way he raves about Amen Thompson from way before the draft..... Some people have their eyes set on sth, they will hammer it home, triple down, I mean Amen is not a bad prospect by all means but there is a real big risk to go all in on him...... But if you miss the context, you end up with your statement because you don't know what is up....but have it your way.
I still don't understand what you are saying. @Nook, do you know what the heck is going on here? LOL...
I think you are drunk, if you want a few words...then DM me, no need to go publically over something.
Who cares about stats with a rookie in this kind of sample size Eye test: He is making the right decision most of the time and the physical tools are obviously there. The skills have some catching up to do, hence the inconsistency. But they show flashes. The consistency will come in time.
He can do many things but for the coaching staff to know what things work for their game plan is key. I have come to realize that Ime works on particular things within a frame of time but he does not allow total freedom which is his style. A good reason why Whitmore is also on a leash although he seems to be in great shape.
"I do not understand why fan(atic)s have to select their player, just roll with whoever develops better." A goofball statement in more ways than one.
