Jock is in the paint and Bev is at the elbow. Ball moves faster than people. Unless Jock has the arm strength of later years Matt Schaub or Holiday takes a full deep breath before shooting Bev has a 0% chance of doing anything but flailing around. This is an open 3 to tie the game, plain and simple and JV Jock didn't even see it. That isn't on Jalen.
Why would he? This is a poor assumption at best and also, not on Jalen.
    Jalen decides who plays now?

Jalen played well, drew the double team and got the ball out. There is no mistake here.
The correct play with what he was presented. A running, fadeaway 3 over 2 defenders would have you lot screeching as well.
Green could've and he could've made a difficult shot. And left 6 seconds on the clock for a team that still had a timeout. That wouldn't have been game over.
Making the right play is not a low standard. Ridiculous assertion. Indicative that the expectation for Jalen Green is beyond reason.
To Tate? A shaky 3 point shooter who had Morris on him?

Or to Holiday? A guy with 2 defenders in the area that could've pounced on a crosscourt pass?

You've backed the wrong pony on this race bud. Autopilot complaint on Jalen absolutely denied.

Ime's decision to go with Landale cost us an attempt to tie, the game itself was lost at the free throw line...29 of 33 to 15 of 21 = 14 point diff. Maxey's relentless drives and finishing ability gave us fits. Sengun fouling out was key, if he is in the last play I believe we at least get a look at a tie. Other than 6 more turnovers and the aforementioned free throws, the rockets were better in all the other categories. When this team shoots over 50% and loses it is very frustrating, because shooting is not our "calling card"...missing our defensive anchors was big in this one, especially with no Embid to deal with. But I'll take this over the last three years for sure, 30 games in and I'm still engaged...let's go! haha

    To Holiday.

There was one defender. Beverly. Not even sure what youre talking about.

But again, i agree with Ime that he shouldve shot it when he had the chance anyways.
He had three options and he chose to put the game in the hands of the worst player on the court.

We lost this game for the same reasons we have lost so many the last month: our D sucks donkey D!!

Of course Maxey is going to blow by our guys; he is better than any player on our team. The real issue is guys like Harris doing it. No excuse for that. Also, why are we letting Morris beat us?

This team is much better than I thought it would be, but talent wise the league is catching on. We hid a bit early in the year because we played fewer games than our opponents. Now that we are playing catchup in the schedule, our lack of conditioning is showing. That is one of the reasons our D sucks.

Ironic that Sengun had fouled out. The last time that happened? The 2nd game of the season, a loss against the Spurs in SA. He had 25 pts,14 boards and 7 assists before fouling out. Of course, Alpi also had 6 turnovers and was 2-6 at the line, but he's improved there.

Yes, the game would have been different had Sengun and/or Bari been available, in my opinion. Why Coach Udoka didn't use Jeff Green instead of Landale is a mystery.

Green should have taken the shot but it wasn’t the wrong play to make the pass. If we’re going to pass out blame then it’s on coach for having Landale in the game.

You are basically saying the play is screwed either way and that FVV should have taken a 3....36% it goes in.

I think your expectations are way too high the season after a horrible Rocket's run.

A young, inexperienced team going against a set defense from a good team with a good coach..... we didn't have that much of an advantage.

I don't fault Green for not taking a contested 3 pointer.... also wouldn't have been mad if he did and missed. He was shooting well for the evening.

From a game perspective, you have to encourage player to shoot good shots and the best shot seemed to be, Landale rolling and then passing it to the open man in the corner....this time it was Tate no matter what people think of Tate's shot.

The Corner 3 was one of the best shots here. Even if Tate is a 33% long range shooter, the Corner 3 is the easiest of the 3s....that is also given that Landale is an awful finisher and rim presence.

Heck, Garuba would have made that Corner 3 blindfolded.

So Green in this play did nothing wrong.....doesn't mean that much in a tough loss.

Beverley was on Fred, Maxey was in Holiday. Guy if you’re going to argue with video evidence you can stop quoting me. Autopilot shidding on Jalen is one thing after his bad games but this wasn’t on him.

I don’t care what Ime says about it, he can hold the yoke for his mistakes too.
