Finished it. What a great game. Only complaint I have is the turn based combat gets tedious when too many opponents spawn, but otherwise, it's a brilliant game. 100% satisfied with my playthrough.

I think I may get this soon. Seems good based on a few glowing reviews I read.

Just bought this. It was the game I was waiting to play since the BG series is one of my favorite series of all time and probably among my 2 favorite RPG series. Still playing Starfield, but once done, BG3 will be next. Elden Ring will have to wait even though I bought that a while back. lol.

You will not regret the purchase. In some ways it outdoes the storytelling of the original, it is truly ambitious in nature. And boy, I've replayed BG1 and 2 in their entirety and modded many many times (although the last time it really showed its age for me, but was still fun). To consider the actual storytelling at least on par (and in many ways superior) is something.

That being said, Jon Irenicus remains the GOAT villain.

It is a blast. So many different possible iterations of the game, so much freedom, it's truly mind blowing.

I've been playing while waiting for the latest Starfield update. I love the game. I'm only level 6. I feel like I've just started. I'm also scared that I screwed some things up, but we'll see and I can always replay the game. I look forward to it.

Level 6 should put you at the beginning of act 2, give or take. Honestly, in comparison to acts 2 and 3, act 1 feels like a regular rpg (it wasn't, just the game shines brighter the longer it goes imo).

Very cool. I'm actually still in act 1, I think. At least there hasn't been an announcement of Act 2 or anything. That makes me happy because I want the game to last as long as possible. Maybe I'm close to ending act 1.

You won't get any announcements, it's just the way the game is divided. Telling you more could go into spoilers so I won't.

I also got BG3 on the sale. I'm a little over an hour in. Not really sure what I'm doing or if I like it. I'm not a D&D person.

I was considering getting Armored Core 6 if it went on sale but it didn't.

D&D can be hard to get into. If you persevere I've seen several people that would not have played a CRPG grow to really like it otherwise. Hopefully you like turn-based combat. Hopefully you like it, but if you don't nothing wrong with that either. It's got great storytelling.

I have no problems with RPGs. RPGs are a genre I enjoy, and I've played plenty of action RPGs/MMOs. So far, it feels like a tactics game and RPG.

My bro was watching me play some and he had to explain some D&D terms like cantrips being basic skills that you can infinitely use, advanced spells having a daily limit, terminology like 1d4 etc that I am not familiar with. That's my hangup mostly so far. I know nothing of D&D mechanics which the game kinda assumes you do.

I've got a full party with my custom character, that Gale wizard, the girl ninja turtle, and Shadowheart. Recovering HP has been problematic but I ran into a devil town where there's supposedly a druid healer. So far, a little over 2 hours in. Can't refund now so I'm committed lol, not that I was gonna give up. I think I can get the hang of it.

Perfect, you have someone to help you so you don't have to do all the research yourself, I'm certain you will figure it out. Have a blast man.

PS: if you have food you can long rest to heal and get spent spell slots back. Also, you can short rest twice a day without food to get half your health back each time. Look at your flame icon on the bottom right corner for more info.

OK, I'm throwing in the towel on Sea of Stars. It is very pretty (this cannot be overstated), good sounds/music, some good dungeon/puzzle design, etc. But combat is boring and annoying, and the writing/story is...boring. Boring main characters, and boring everything else. It even tried to be funny at some points, but those didn't land at all for me. I could possibly slog through it, but there's really not much here to incentivize me to do so. If I find some time, maybe I'll watch the rest of the story on Youtube. Hopefully the studio can do better with their next project because they clearly have a lot of talent. Can't say I understand all the praise/awards it received though.

I went ahead and bought Octopath Traveler 2 and Live a Live with the Steam sale. I'll move on to those games, which I think are likely to be much more interesting.

dusted off my ps3 and played max payne 3 over the holydays. man, such a satisfying playthrough.

a good linear game will always be better than an empty open world one.

Ghost of Tsushima. I was able to finish it about a month ago. I have a bunch of games that I've bought that I haven't even played yet. Barely have any time to play now. GOT was good though.

Played a bit of both games, and yes, these seem to be much better. I did feel bad about bailing on Sea of Stars, and I did skim through a playthrough to complete the story. To its credit, it *does* get better (primarily world building stuff), though ultimately still pretty meh overall when everything is done IMO. ~3 hours of Octopath 2 already feels significantly better to me than Sea of Stars. To be fair, might be better than most games of this style.
