Yesterday at MacExpo Paris. http://www.apple.com/imac/ I just ordered a 20" to replace my first generation imac that was fried by lightning a month back. I added a wireless card and bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I can't wait to get this baby set up in my kitchen. Yes!
Man, that wouldn't make it in my house. It just isn't sturdy enough. My cats would knock that thing over within minutes of its arrival. I saw one of the monitors and, while it is better balanced than I thought, no way it would stand up to the beating it would take here. I just got a new iMac a couple months back and I love it. It is sturdy as hell and the screen is amazing.
Remove the stand and use a VESA mount to mount it to the wall. Then use the bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
The larger models are nice looking, but the 17" is kind of ugly because of all of the space under the screen. I'm not very into the look of the stand, either. Not that I'd buy an Apple without a 60% discount anyway.
It would've been funny if you had instead typed "Oh yeah, now chains hanging from the ceiling we have plenty of!"
The timing of this was perfect for me. Not that I needed a iMac, but I am doing a powerpoint presentation on Apple this week and , conveniently, they release this, giving me something more to talk about. Of couse, nobody would understand anything I say if I try giving the specs of it, nor the "coolness" of it. They probably think it is just another monitor or something like that.
I just bought an eMac a few months ago and I am in love. I didnt have the $$ for an iMac, but this thing does everything I want to do, even burns DVD's. Its kind of like Toyota........ Dont think I will ever switch back now....
I kinda like how the G4 one looked, this one just doesn't do it for me but I've heard that its much better close up
