Ime Udoka talked about how it felt like a wasted game when you got big performances from Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet and Alperen Sengun. Was asked about Jalen possibly snapping out of his slump also.

Maxey blowing by three defender while Jalen couldn’t even get pass the one.. he’s getting good looks because defense is sagging off on him now and double teaming Sengun. Only time he got double team was the final play and he couldn’t get the shot off. He had a good game but I ain’t falling for little compensation he gives out once every 8 games.

100%. Screw being an all star level player. I need him to have at least 5 games in a row were he's not a complete negative on the floor. If that happens I might start having hope he could be a serviceable starter at least.

I didn't agree with putting Landale in the game on the last play - Uncle Jeff is a far better decision maker out there and Landale somehow got out bodied by the smallest guy on the court at the rim....agree with Udoka that Green should have shot that last shot. Also agree that we passed up some open shots for no good reason - Holiday, Tate, and Eason all did that in the 4th but really this game was about poor one on one defense that forced us to be in deep defensive rotations constantly and to Philly's credit they hit several very tough shots.

...the one thing that drives me up the wall about Jalen is that he constantly gets pushed off his spot trying to utilize screens. I have never in my life seen a player so shitty at using screens. It's such a simple thing that he just refuses to fight for - if I were Udoka, I would be fining Jalen 10k for every screen he misses.

I would have put Cam in over Tate to take that final shot - hell I would have given Cam the ball over Jalen, he at least would have put up the shot. Moris was barely guarding Tate.

Yeah man - wild that a young team like us lost 3 games in a row to some of the league's best, most vet packed teams.

Interesting that Jalen suddenly looks better as Dillon has been injured and the games are shoot outs instead of grind fests.

It feels like his patience hasn’t worn out but it is wearing thin.

They defended to show they could the first 20+ games of the year… but to defend that way all year takes a lot of effort and focus. Right now that effort and focus just isn’t there.

I expected them to take a step back defensively, they lack a real defensive center or stopper and they are young. I’ll be curious to see if they bounce back soon defensively.

Maxey is arguably what the Rockets need. The Rockets could have had him in the Harden trade but wanted cap space instead.

Yeah - playing defense and offense is hard. Very very few shooting guards played both well - even Kobe Bryant was poor defensively most the time.

Right now Green isn’t being held as accountable as he was defensively, so he can focus more on scoring.

Also points out probably the most amazing thing about Michael Jordan - he was the top defensive shooting guard in the league and the top offensive player consistently for over a decade.

Im not sure expecting Green to bring it every possession on defense, but I am hoping he learns how to turn it on when he needs to like LBJ, Drexler, TMac and Kobe.

I think Green scoring makes his overall effort go up including on defense. When he misses shots, his effort level drops on both ends.

He got double and trapped a bunch of times or of the pnr what are you talking about? Did you watch the game?

I thought it was smart because it was really attacking Jalens lack of handle.

Clear indication the trade value is higher than it was 2 games ago.

Jalen's 30 Point scoring does not change anything.
He has zero basketball iq, can not make decisions and almost no basketball fundamentals.
He is still not the player l want to match with Alpi, Van Fleet and Jabari...

Sadly for you, it's not your decision whether he's the guy they run with. If he can build on this performance and start to gain some consistency you're going to be a very unhappy "fan."

His multiple pin point passes yesterday to Sengun disagree.
