Substitute traditional Texans Red Collar, Yellow to Battle Red, Green to Steel Blue and White to Liberty White. Outline numbers and accent stripes on pants with Astros Blue uni Stripes. Go BOLD or leave it alone.
I can just see the steers and queers jokes Every . Single. Week. * Or maybe not in this day and age? Not to mention, don't the Titans have flames coming off of their pitiful logo? No offense, but that might be the worst post in this thread lol. I like the creativity, but the irony is hilarious. Or was it intentional satire?
When I first saw that post I thought it was green slime dripping. A nod to Marvin Zindler's 'slime in the ice machine'
I'm hopeful that one of the four designs is going to be an improvement, but either way, I feel like the project is already a failure. If you go from 1 uniform to 4, you have basically taken your brand identity out back and shot it in the face. I'm getting prepared for something as disappointing as this: The logo is fine. The name is dumb and will always be a weight around the neck of the franchise.
This is interesting. The only uniform they've worn at home "since 2002" is the navy helmet-navy jersey-white pants combo (though, technically, their first-ever home game, they wore white jerseys - but I don't think he's being that pedantic.) We also learn the logo is NOT changing and Oiler blue will be incorporated into "some of the four uniforms" they'll unveil but not a primary color. Purely a guess here, obviously - but I think the primary change is going to be helmet/jersey combo - they're either going with a white helmet (my prediction) or red helmet/navy jersey or navy helmet/red jersey. It's also possible red replaces navy as their primary color and it's red/red. The reason I'm leaning white helmet... I feel strongly they're going to go white jersey/white pants on the road (thankfully, imo), and that white helmet would look *really* goooooooood. It'll also pop with the Oiler blue. Does anybody know the governance of # of uniforms? If they have four, do they have to be split - 2 home/2 away? Or can they have 3/1?
They aren't going from 1 uniform to 4, they currently already have 4 uniforms (as most teams do), home blues, away whites, battle red, and color rush.
A color swap isn't a 'new uniform' IMO. All 4 of these new unis the Texans are getting are supposed to be completely different from each other aesthetically, not just palette swaps. Different designs entirely, and each one of them may have their own "home" and "away" version (i.e. color swaps).
This is not true. Every year there's "liberty white out" and "battle red" theme weeks at home. I think a white helmet would open up some design space. But I will now and forever be pushing for a primary color of red. As far as governance, I don't think there's any road/away split mandate.
