which PG should we prusue next summer?

with so many solid PG (or 1/2 combo guard) coming into the FA market next summer, I can see the Rockets find a way to upgrade the spot (Ward). who'd you like to see the Rockets prusue?

Gary Payton (still one of the best and wants to play in Houston; age is the only concern)

Jeff Mclnnis (should be a good fit here, MLE seems just about the right price for his service)

Jamal Tinsley (good talant / bad reputation?)

    Marko Jaric (another good choice)

    Earl Watson (#3 asi./48min.; #19 asi./to; #11 stl./48min. not a good shooter though)

Eric Strickland (avg. 5.4pt/2.1asi in 13min. of action; also shoots .439% from 3s)

Damon Stoudmire (also a good pick but not sure if affordable?)

Bobby Jackson (a perfect fit imo. he showed pg ability before joining the Kings. he's the 6th man for that team and asked to score off the bench. that's their system; hey even Bibby's assit droped from 8+ to 5 since joined the Kings.

Tony Parker (RFA; not likely leave the Spurs but hasn't got an extention from the Spurs this summer, who knows)

Tyronn Lue (no change, just re-sign Lue?)

or maybe someone like Cook, Hughes(played PG for Warriors before and averaged 4.5asi/g), or maybe Atonio Daniels still available?

I go crazy about this every single time somebody posts it, but anybody who has watched the Clippers or looked at the stats would realize that Marko Jaric is a lousy point guard.

He not a particularly good shooter and hovers under 39% overall. He's extremely lead footed defender, one of the very worst defensive point guards in the NBA - huge negative in our style. He's not a particularly skilled playmaker, passer, or ballhandler.

He was a fine Euroleague player, has not been a very good NBA player. Sometimes you have to put down the NBA draft.net profile and focus on what he has been in the NBA: mediocre, at best. Just because you're Euro doesn't make you good.

I'd go for Bobby Jackson. But according to reports he has a team option next year. A team option that he wants the Kings to decline, but I don't see them dropping their option unless they decide to lock up BJax themself.

You should have Daniels on the list since he'll be a free agent and likely potential target for the Rox.

Speaking of future offseason moves. I think we have a pretty decent shot to land KG in 2008. And I'm only half joking about that.

Bobby Jackson and Tony Parker are guys who create shots. We may not be able to afford to pay for guys who can create shots at that position, since we already have 2 (McGrady and Yao). We just need someone who can play D and hit open jumpers, like Jeff McInnis.

wow, supringly most of the voters wants Parker depite the very slim chance of us getting this restricted FA. only 1 voted Gary Payton but CD might play the waiting game again and then sign GP and tell everyone we find another JJ at the end of next summer.

I believe CD already has a plan for next summer, just want to see what everyone's guess. and if we can talk about re-signing Yao or lose him to G.S./N.Y./L.A. why can't talk about upgrade the PG next season?

my favorate too but seeing this off-season's signning i think the MLE ($36M/6yr) might be the starting bid for BJax.

I tried, the max options for a poll is ten. :)

yeah, tell me who you want to trade Ward for by the time :D

you'll see, Sura isn't a point guard. Lue'll be FA next summer and you don't want Ward being the only PG on your team.

If Antonio Daniels opts out I would prefer to go after him.

The guy to watch on the current roster is Reece Gaines. I think he has the most upside of anyone on the roster. He has a combination of offense and defense ability. He needs to improve his 3 pt shooting.

forget the FA PGs for next year. I am amazed and the way you basketball junkies (having to wait another 44 days to get your preseason fix) are actually getting into this post

... oh well, it beats the offer Mo T and Lue for an 6 time All Star posts !
