States rights has always only been a way to overrule the majority, all the way back to the Civil War. Nobody gets worked up about states rights in the abstract. Its only ever important when the Federal government disagrees with you on a contested subject. Then is is the most important issue ever.

Imagine the precedent that is being set by removing someone from the ballot for a crime in which they have not been convicted or even charged. None of the bogus indictments against Trump even accuse him of "insurrection". Anyone who condones this is setting our legal system back centuries. Anyone could be removed for any accusation at all.
