I'm on the fence between 2 and 4 so I picked the middle and went 3.

At this point I just want him to salvage something and improve to at least role player level.

Green is actually my favorite Color but I just cannot bring myself to like his game....

    Panathinaikos has the best logo.....

I am willing to wait till season end. 2-5.

4 right now for me. He’s improved a lot this year as an overall player vs where he was under Silas.

I just don’t see him becoming what he was envisioned when drafted and doubt he’s playing here on a second contract, though can’t 100% rule it out. I could easily see the Monk type situation where he finds a nice niche on a 2/25 deal as a scoring role player on another decent team.

I voted 6. I want Tari to be our identity coming off the bench. If Jalen goes to the bench it should be for Brogdon, Caruso, or Cam. A second unit that includes Amen, Green, Tari and a real backup Center would be phenomenal. Tari can get 30 mins off the bench. Who starts is all about rotations. Folks that aren’t coaches put way too much emphasis on who starts.

That's fair about not getting hung up on starter status. I suppose I should say I want to see Green playing fewer minutes and Tari playing more. I guess I don't care too much how Ime gets us there.

    I voted 6.

If he was making shots, it would be a lot different right now.

On the fence. Hoping for him to elevate his game. Some disappointment so far, but I also see promise.

I went with 7. I expected this process of him actually being coached to be an ugly one. Nothing has changed for me. The rebuilding of Jalen needed to start on the defensive end. This was by far the worst part of his game. He has improved on that end. If he can play consistent defensively, he can stay on the floor, regardless of his shooting.

I think that he is afraid of making mistakes (Ime) and it's affecting his confidence in terms of shooting. My confidence that he can still become a valuable player is more based on my confidence in IME, Sullivan and the staff. They have this year and next year to "fix" him. I'm most frustrated with his ability to finish at the rim. Sullivan needs to develop some kind of training that will hopefully help him with where to put the ball when he uses the glass. He still needs to get stronger. This probably doesn't happen this season.

I'm rooting for Jalen because we flat out need him. We need his ability to attack the rim. We need him to at least hit 35% on his 3's. It would take us to another level. We would be better if both Jalen and Cam become effective and efficient players. It shouldn't have to be one or the other. I don't want to gut part of our team for a quick fix that won't lead to a title. We have nothing to lose by waiting to see if he can figure it out.

So I'm not panicked. I'm concerned but still willing to show patience.

I'm really hoping that he skips on the modeling BS this off-season and stays in Houston with Sullivan next summer.

Empty stats star/superstar on a 6-8 seed like Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell or Damian Lillard. Can't really do the Jamal Murray/Klay Thompson thing where he can just catch and shoot when called upon.

He's not an Ime Udoka player. He'd be perfect in Indiana where it's pedal to the metal all of the time and they lose in the ECSF.

People are quick to make exact judgements on players when things are always more fluid than people think. However, the longer Green isn't taking that proverbial "leap," the more his ceiling is likely to be capped.

When he came into the league I thought he had a good chance to be a Lavine/Beal type. Great volume scorer on good efficiency and kinda lacking in other parts. Good chance as in maybe 20%? Now, I think the odds of that is lower, more like 5-10% likelihood. There are just not enough consistent high level play that make you think he can reach that level.

At the same time, I think his floor is higher now. Especially this year where he's shown he can function defensively in a good system. And he also clearly is coachable and willing to take a lesser role when he's not shooting well. These things mean he should be able to stay in the league as a role player. Right now the guys I'm more comping him against are players like RJ Barrett. Which is not what you want out of a 2nd pick but at least a low level starter/high level backup.

I voted 6. He won’t be the all star scorer people dreamed of but he is putting in effort the athletic scorer types usually don’t, improving on defense, play making. He has to figure out one of shooting or getting to the rim efficiently. I think he should invest in the latter.

I voted 5. I don’t see Green as a potential star but could be a solid starter later down the line, maybe fringe all star.

Overall Green has had too much freedom to play poorly with little to no accountability.

He should be demoted to 6th man and be challenged to earn his starting spot back.
