Way to go BTG. I like the objective comment! We all hope he can do this consistently and add a little more. If he doesn’t then move him when the offer is right.
I really wish someone on the staff would teach him how to do a reverse layup. I've been screaming for it since he got in the league. Literally would cut down on him getting blocked by 50%.
It's a combination of being pretty weak still and always looking for the acrobatic finish to avoid contact instead of just jamming it in.
Once he embarrassed himself at the dunk contest his rookie year, I was concerned that it showed that he lacked the mentality required to be great. Unfortunately it is proving to be true. He choked on that stage. He doesn't have the killer instinct, he doesn't rise to the occasion.
I got absolutely clowned for suggesting that too. This entire website dogpiled me for saying that his embarrassing dunk contest meant something
Please for the love of all that is holy tell me y’all have seen the light and are not still deluding yourselves with this dude. Its sad at this point.
He’d better redeem himself after this last performance…got one of his biggest supporters (me) very very frustrated
Nah f that nonsense. F mentality, f rising to the occasion. How about let's start with making open layups, making open 3's. Gain some muscles you don't get bounced around like a child
Green has been playing his role on this team quite well recently imo. I jist think people need to adjust their expectations of what Jalens role is. Its not a star role, its a secondary support role. Hes doing the other things more frequently and consistently. Better rebounding, better passing, decent defense. Hes consistently about 3rd or 4th on FGAs on the team, around 12 or so. The main issue is he isnt making shiit this year. It makes everything else look so bad. He gets blocked on both OT shot attempts and the hate jalen circle jerk goes wild.
Alright, time to take off my angry glasses for today. I think for Jalen to really achieve “redemption” in the eyes of his critics, there’s one major thing he needs to do… SCORE the damn ball. I get that he’s not featured in the offense as much as last year and I also get that he’s a rhythm player, but for Jalen to contribute to a winning team he has to change his play style. I am patient and will continue to be patient but it is undeniable that nights like this really grind my gears. Evolution does not come easy, I’ll admit, and frustration boils over for even the best of us…and I’ll never agree with posting crazy, reactionary takes but I CAN SEE why many do not enjoy watching Jalen play. He must be a walking bucket. Then all will be forgiven. Can he do it..? If he does then I assume chapter 7 will have a title—and if he doesn’t then this might be the end of the book
It’s funny how those who could see it all along were labeled as haters, not real Rockets fans, and some even called them racists (lmao) maybe we just know basketball *shrug*
Man his TS% is 53.1% while league average is 56.8% meaning he's quite possibly one of the worst shooting guards in the league. He might even be sitting at the bottom.
Oh come on lmao. He was drafted to be a superstar. He was drafted (in the words of many posters here on Clutchfans) as the most NBA-ready player in the draft, and to be the next Kobe or Michael Jordan, and anyone with any sort of criticism was dogpiled and ridiculed for “criticizing a kid”. People were told to shut up and to wait and see. Well, the people have waited and have seen. Of course there’s going to be a Jalen Green Hate Circle Jerk in response to the many years of Jalen Green OnlyFans Circle Jerking. Green fans were straight up hostile for years. They don’t get to whine now that they’re getting some of it in return
I think that's BigMalone's point. You're right, that's what he was drafted for, but it's pretty clear that's not what he's going to become at this point. That's why they're saying we need to adjust our expectations... Just because he's not going to be Jordan or Kobe doesn't mean he can't still have value.
Which team loses 60 games in a season and drafts a SUPPORT player from the second pick? Meanwhile, this team's best player is someone who was selected from 16th pick.
Turns out...consistently shooting below 40% from the field with below average defense is not what leads to winning basketball. Somehow, this was not obvious to people.
