Thats a solid take but ultimately team is just too young/raw and as you say no superstars either.

Major step in the right direction so far tho.

The team is not the shallow structure of Silas-era.
You need not only a very good team to beat Rockets but also help of 3 zebras.

When they stopped the game to make horrendous decisions, they did not only nullify Rockets' efforts but also gave breath to Bucks, changed the momentum.
How come NBA refs and the commentators are so biased. No inner-man? Players are not much better also. Think about Murray/MPJ, they think any game against Rockets-type teams should be win and they got crazy when things do not go in their way. Or childish actions from Curry/Portis/Lopez/..when they got a stolen win with the help of Zebras. I would be shameful if I was a Bucks supporter.

The only thing I expect from Ime is to field Bari (3)/Tari (4)/Alp(5) frontcourt consistently. Jabari will be Maverick at SF and we will get more rebounds. When they settled, I would like to see the faces of spoiled kids of Adam Silver.

We don’t need a superstar just give me a few all stars, and we don’t have that. Maybe Alp…Fred made one, but he’s not playing like it in Houston.

They need to trade for a bonafide scorer that they can rely on consistently- couple that with this defense and we got something.

    start using those picks stone

Jabari has zero lateral movement to be a 3. He’ll be torched.

Add some muscle and be the 4 his physical limitations allow him to be.

I have seen Gregor F u c k a at 3. Jabari will make a perfect 3. He will be a mismatch for any opponent.

11 less FTs on the road and lose by 9 to the potential 2023-24 champs? Not that bad.

It has been this way since late 2000s, the reason I stopped watching NBA games for over a decade. This is what sells most. Superstar stats and storylines no matter what. There are way more people who are gambling and statwatching rather than watching games. Therefore making more money to NBA. We should know better having Harden for years. No real basketball person wants this, including Adam Silver, you can deduct it clearly from JJ interview that he wishes more people lean on the real product which is the game played on the floor. However masses are stupid but you need to appeal to stupid to make money. When you make peace with the fact, you can watch again. We will be on the other side when we start contending again, dont worry.

Like I said before the game, no shame in losing this one. They have 3 All-Stars, Middleton is one too, and we have potentially one. They have size, we don't. They were at home, got some home cooking, we didn't have enough punch so we lost. Not a big deal. However, I do see an issue with our lack of taking advantage of the fast break opportunities. Only Tari does it well. FVV is too small, Aaron is too small, Green does not have the ball control, Jabari has no handles, Tate can but is out of control at times, Brooks rarely finishes etc.

Now the common factor amongst our guards is more concerning, which is when they get into the paint after a screen set by Sengun. 9 times out of 10 they will just penetrate until the next defender and then go back out. There is ZERO threat from our guards to put pressure on the defense, unless Green is riding a hot streak, Aaron has his floater going and FVV has that 1/20 games where he actually attacks and finds a way to score or get past that initial defender in the 1st place.

Something has to change for us to compete offensively and clearly we need that lack of size addressed soon.

    Pool report

    "December 17, 2023

The Pool Report interview was conducted by Jim Owczarski (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) with Crew Chief Bill Kennedy following tonight’s Rockets at Bucks game.

QUESTION: Why was the elbow on an offensive move from Dillon Brooks on Pat Connaughton reviewed and why was the made basket reversed into an offensive foul?

KENNEDY: A replay was triggered immediately to stop play to see whether a hostile act was not part of the natural basketball play. During the review though we observed that Brooks made an illegal act on Connaughton while attempting to swim over and score the basketball. We penalized Brooks for the illegal contact thus disallowing the scored basket.

QUESTION: Subsequently, why was the elbow an on offensive move from Brook Lopez on Fred VanVleet earlier, so why did that not trigger any review?

KENNEDY: Correct, during live play we deemed that contact between Lopez and VanVleet was part of a normal basketball move therefore no replay review was triggered.

QUESTION: Why was Dillon Brooks assessed his first technical foul with 38.9 seconds remaining in regulation – it appeared as if the play was either still going on, or maybe had just been whistled dead?

KENNEDY: Brooks was assessed his first technical foul for disrespecting a game official using profanity. By rule the play was stopped at the 38.9 as we deemed that as the first neutral opportunity following the flopping violation.

If we can actually get Amen on the court consistently at some point here, that should help with the transition offense issues. Fast break points are one of his biggest strengths. Possible he'll also develop into a second option on offense in the halfcourt, but that will likely take a couple of years if so.

But yes, this is why I've been thinking favorably about trading for a guy like Lauri even if it costs a lot. A guy who can consistently pressure the rim and hit contested jump shots at a high clip is obviously our biggest missing piece, followed by a real backup center. The hope was that Jalen would develop into our primary perimeter scorer to play alongside Sengun, and maybe that hope isn't dead, but it's at least struggling for air.

Exactly. Not sure who (if anyone) had this penciled as a win back when the schedule was released.

Obviously, the NBA front office has instructed its referees to watch Brooks closely on every play, like Draymond Green. They are concerned about the optics and don't want to reward any player who tries to walk a line as he is doing.

If Brooks could play above the rim and create highlights like Giannis, they would look the other way. But if your game is below the rim, you can't body up and push people around. And if you run your mouth and play physical with stars, you won't last.

On Brooks's drive, Pat Connaughton is playing him closely and has his hands all over Brooks. With the way the game is called for Brooks, he can't make that swim move.

Agreed. For the Bucks it was another night of taking care of business......for the Rox it would have been a monumental Win.

He has already had his options exercised for 24 and 25. He will be a RFA in 26. Getting an extension is dependent on his play over this next 2 years. The Rockets and Ime can bring him along at whatever pace they deem acceptable.
