    It's always been a matter of Haves vs Have-Nots. Peace and enlightenment is a privilege among the Haves, which Conservatives understand far better than Liberals who generally espouse the ideal over the tested real.

    That might’ve been true of conservative before but I don’t think many current conservatives subscribe tot he tested real these days.

    A different way to look at it is war is only (self-imposed) hyper-evolutionary pressure that ensures the robustness of the species. If I were a female boomer, I would've picked a GI who survived four years in the Pacific theater.
