Coincidentally, Texas did the same thing against OU 4 years ago. OU subbed at 20 and was ready at 17. Texas took its time and forced a TO. That play was pretty egregious as the defenders didn’t “promptly” leave the field of play. But it’s been tested a few times and very very rare to see defense called for it. I never could find what time we made our sub on that play for this game.
IT making it sound like it’d be effective immediately. Nothing confirmed though. Edit: Sark confirmed he will stay on through the CFP.
Anyone going to the Sugar Bowl or the Championship (if we make it)? What's the best way to buy these tickets? Wait till the last minute?
no best way. This the first CFB game for the richest school in the country and the game is right next. It might as well be a home game for Texas and tickets are going to be ridiculously expensive on the secondary market. I know most of my friends have already bought tickets for the national championship game just in case.
You can try https://cfp-rsvp.com/home for RSVPs for retail priced tickets, may be currently cheaper than just buying them off secondary market right now.
I’ve looked into this but can’t figure it out. So you are paying $750 to rsvp a ticket at face value? But you are stuck with the rsvp even if your team doesn’t make it?
Yeah, we did the math. It seems it was risking $600-$750 to potentially save $500-$1k. If we lose the Sugar Bowl, then you'd lose out on the $600-$750. I think we are gonna wing it and wait till the very last day.
Correct - it's a sort of form of sports betting but with tickets. These were much better bets a few weeks or months ago, when you could get the RSVP a lot cheaper. So back then, maybe you pay $100 for the right to buy a face value ticket if Texas makes it because the odds of Texas getting there were so much lower.
