not stretching before ultimate fighting championship collecting shark teeth from ill-tempered sharks sewing up that wound with a rusty needle seatless bike stunts smoking cigarettes, watching captain kangaroo taunting my dentist during surgery
dang it people.. now I have to run down stairs and grab a dr pepper from the store.... check that I'm on the 12th floor.. I'll be using an elevator... the stairs would be way too healthy
my two biggest are: over exposure to the sun (I burn like an SOB, plus I don't pay enough attention to the UV levels on days I go outside) and lack of exercise (I used to play basktball, racquetabll, and lift weights regularly.. but now my spare time is so limited and my back isn't in great enough shape to make me wanna go work out at ALL)
I mix Goose (Vodka) with Red Bull like a mad man. I only smoke on occasion when i'm out drinking the above drink. I have on occasion like last weekend slept 4-5 hours from a friday to sunday and eat red meat daily. I'm driven like crazy during the week including working/studying/productive things, but am a binge drinking pary animal on the weekends. Oh well. You only live once. Enjoy it. "You don't remember days, you remember moments"
I take a lot of liberties with my health -- I wrongly think that since I'm vegan, I don't have to worry about health. These are vices I've had over the years, and I'm sure my health will eventually reflect those choices: * Smoking * Drinking * Snacking * Watching too much TV * Exercising too little * Chugging too much diet soda
I think you and I are twins separated by a few years, and by different parents.... I do (and don't do) the same stuff, minus the sleep deprivation. The only healthy thing I actually do besides walking around campus during the day is go to my Rheumatologist when I'm supposed to.
mateo.... yep, good times in towers.. where I spend much time waiting on elevators... Must say that Towers was pretty loud last night..... for the first weekend back on campus.. it'll get much better if all these basketball players and football palyers that live in this building manage to have a good year. they ran out of space and put like 50 freshman in towers this year.. not sure if they are trying to corrupt them or not.. of course you know that Vandy guys don't mind freshman especially the first few weeks..
mateo.. in addition to what I just said to you above.. while I have you in this thread.. Very impresed about the New York job thing.... hopefully my econ degree will be well received.... oh and we just move up to number 18 in rankings..... while Rice fell to 17... rankings don't mean a whole lot... but as a Houstonian I sure would love to pass Rice soon...
I eat too much food that tastes good...and too little of crap that tastes like sauteed cardboard but is good for you. I drink about a 12 pack at least twice a month. I don't smoke or do drugs (I have experimented with drugs some in the past). I live in an industrial area with the air full to bursting with lovely carcinogens. I don't excersize with any degree of regularity. I eat food off the floor if I drop it...as long as I pick it up immediately (3 second rule). I drink sodas (diet and regular) and don't drink enough water.
I guess the only real bad thing for me is what I eat. No drugs, no sodas anymore, plenty of water, and I work out at least 5 days a week due to athletics at school. (may go down once I'm out of school, but that's what it is like now) Now, my eating habits aren't so healthy. I don't eat chocolate dipped pancakes with butter or anything, but I do eat a lot of sweet stuff. Candy, donuts, and chips are just a few of my favorite "foods." The only reason I eat somewhat healthy is the fact that I get to eat my mom's cooking, so I eat what she cooks, some of which is actually good for the body. Only problem is I never really got around to liking fruits/vegetables. I'm pretty picky with my foods, and these groups are the biggest hit. A small fraction of my meals have food from these groups, if they are even lucky to get in there. I wish I would eat more of them, but I just can't like the tastes of them, and even the ones I'm fine with (EX:corn and apples) I don't really eat much since I could eat some chips or an ice cream sandwich instead. I also like salt a lot too. A bunch of salt goes on my fries or whatever I'm eating that needs it.
I guess this qualifies as a health risk... I've been in a cast 6 times courtesy of sports, either basketball or soccer.. My left ankle is in a cast right now... But in 11 days, I will be playing soccer yet again. Can't help it.
Recently I've become addicted to cigarettes. After waiting tables all summer, it was tough to quit and now I smoke like a chimney. Hopefully after I get back into running and tennis, I'll quit but I get mad and cranky thinking about it. GOD MAYBE I WILL!!! A FRIGGIN 12 GAUGE WHAT DO YOU THINK!!! I quit drinking sodas last year so I got that goin for me... I also like being exposed to high amounts of radiation. I know it's unhealthy but I can't risk maybe NOT being spiderman. Some hot chick might need saving or be turned on by it. I'm pretty sure all the crappy beer on west campus will decrease my lifespan by 10 years.
That's funny... congratulations on moving up. I think some at Rice are freaking out right now and hoping the new president brings those numbers up. Like a little number is so important . But I don't understand the ultra-competitive Rice types. (and I went there - seems hard to believe now)
Carbs and salt but I'm a marathoner so I'm entitled. Dating...... got to be the biggest health risk on the planet.
